I love Bill for games that I'm not invested in... But, it's ND, I care, and it's his Bruins... Recipe for disaster tonight.

Bill is terrible tonight. Worse than Flutie
When I lived in Seattle, if I wanted to watch games at night, this is what I got... BW makes boring games fun (especially if you're not invested and buzzed).Like FightingIrishLover7 said, it's just the perfect storm of crap for pissing off Irish fans. It's ND at UCLA. I watch way too much college basketball, and he makes those West Coast games watchable on many an occasion.
On a side note, Irish up 5.
He's clearly struggling with the adjustment of being #2 behind Matt.Didn’t catch the game but did just look at the box score. Gibbs is having s very disappointing year. He is definitely the weak factor of what should be a strong part of the team.
I just cannot fathom anyone being entertained by Bill Walton, ever. The guy isn't funny, makes the dumbest comments on everything and thinks he is a freaking savant. Its just awkward and dumb with him doubling and tripling down on the most awkward and dumb moments.
Brey is on Dakich. He is real upbeat about the youth on the team.
Please tell me that you don't actually listen to Dan...

Crap...
Guess this is one way to "help" Brey with his rotation...
Ugly knee injury for Pflueger...![]()
Yea, that really sucks for him. I've not been a fan of his play, but I do really appreciate how he plays.
Guess we get to watch next years team a bit early.

Shout out to all of Rex's haters (who are now going to say, well, I liked him but he...)
You're about to see how important he was to this team.
This is going to put DJ into a huge leadership position.

Redshirt opportunity still possible for Rex? Anyone know? I think Brey would welcome him back with open arms and you know Rex would want to come back if given the opportunity.
Medical Hardship Exemption
The NCAA allows a seriously injured athlete to extend her eligibility period through a medical hardship exemption, commonly referred to by media outlets as a "medical redshirt," though the NCAA does not use this terminology.
An athlete can qualify for this exemption if she has a documented, incapacitating injury or illness that occurred in the first half of the basketball season and the student-athlete has not participated in more than two contests or dates of competition or 20 percent of her team's scheduled contests, whichever number is greater.
Yep, he defends like no other on our team, he hustles, he rebounds, he gives it his all. Our defense is what has kept us in all of our games this year and he was having the best game of the season, the offense was flowing because of his play. This is a huge loss for the team.
Last year, without Bonzie Colson and Matt Farrell (our "leaders") we finished 32 in Adj Offense in Kenpom, and 68 defensively. A year many of us considered a major struggle to get the offense going.
This year, we are 42 and 73rd.
The idea that this is a massive loss suggests that our expectations should be lowered. If that's the case, what were the expectations? We were picked to finish 9th in the preseason ACC poll (and I'd argue they screwed up by putting L'ville behind us). It's easy to make these statements, look back at the end, and go, "See how much we missed Rex?".
You can sell me all day that losing Bonzie and Matt, just like Rex this year, hurt us because we lost leadership out on the court. Sure. But I'd say the more important factor in that was that we didn't have the players to fill the production gap, not the leadership roles. Not to mention the depth issues it caused. Same thing here. You lose leadership, but from a production view? Not real concerned.
From a person/student standpoint this sucks. He's a great ambassador for ND. He plays the game hard. You'll not see a question about his hustle. Seems like a wonderful kid. But do I think there is going to be some massive drop in overall production or stats for this team? No.
Edit: I'll add this.
If TJ, Mooney, and DJ all continue to get better (as well as the freshman), than the loss of Rex will be more profound. Rex as a 5th option, just playing defense is a very valuable contributor on both ends of the floor. Rex trying to be the second option (as he tried the first 6 games of the year) was pretty bad. Maybe that's the best way to describe Rex's contributions to this team. There is someone on this team better or potentially better at doing everything Rex does for the team. He isn't our best rebounder, but he'll rebound. I'll argue he isn't our best defender (I honestly believe that is Hubb at this point), but he's very good. He's not a consistent distributor (he makes some good decisions like today), but he can pass when he's not consistently handling the ball.
