Also, Notre Dame dropped one spot/held at #2. Big game this weekend against UVA, followed by a big game against Ohio State. These are big games because they're both lowly ranked but talented... can't afford to lose either one. Notre Dame's RPI is currently an abysmal #16.

My finances nephew plays for Hofstra...who recently beat the suckeyes!

#2 ND vs Virginia at 6 PM on ESPNU. Must-win game against an underperforming but dangerous team.

Epple likely out today as well.

Irish seem to have major problems, especially offensively and at the faceoff game. I thought after not getting destroyed in the faceoff game against Denver we wouldn't get destroyed by UVA. Despite some breakdowns caused by turnovers (another problem) the defense has played good enough to win.

It's very frustrating to see the team play like this again after all the problems last weekend.

Team is garbage right now. They need serious changes on offense or they won't make the playoffs.

LOL. That is the luckiest goal of all time. Wow, ND going to lose this one.

Overtime... UVA seems almost certain to win the faceoff. Going to be tough to get a W.

Has anyone notice the 2nd midfield line has only scored one goal all year? Some constructive suggestions: Put Collins in as your top SSDM, he's your next Jack Near. His TO to goal ratio is too high for him to be on the first line on offense. He's a great SSDM! Shantz is your second best SSDM. I would shift Trolley (speed) and Pridemore (shooter/feeder) to the 1st and put Gleason, Ricardi and Brosco on the 2nd. If there aren't some changes in the offensive game plan, this team may not make the FF.

Team might not even make the playoffs if there aren't changes! It's honestly freaking me out because it's not as simple as "oh well so-and-so just needs to play better"... the entire offense does not work as designed.

I think they need to re-tool the midfield lines, and I like your suggestions. I also think that it might be simplest to just make it:
1. Brosco-Pridemore-Perkovic... switch offense away from 2-man games and towards a motion offense with cutters. Use Perkovic as primarily an off-ball player to negate their LSM until he gets a favorable matchup.
2. Trolley-Byrne-Walrath
3. Garnsey-Gleason-Collins... this is the change-of-pace line where you let Collins go from D-to-O and just stay on the field for a shift. Run two attack out of the box.

The only line that plays with any sense of timing and spacing is the 3rd line. Trolley/Pridemore initiate and then IMMEDIATELY move the ball as soon as the slide comes... gets the defense rotating. More often than not someone on the back side gets a good scoring opportunity. Byrne does a good job of being a secondary dodger and not bogging down the offense.

Every other line dodges, draws a slide, then pulls the ball back out... and then the defense resets. Then they move it to the attack and they do the same thing. 4 guys standing around while two people try to play offense. If we run more motion through the crease with all 3 attack instead of leaving Wynne there as a fixture it'll at least make their slide packages more difficult.

Glad to see that the good guys prevailed today. Was a lot closer than I thought it would be though. The buckeyes seem to be much improved from last years team. I didn't get to watch the match, but I was checking out the stat lines and it seems Perk is struggling to find the back of the net. I hope he can find his rythm because everytime I have seen him play he does a great job of firing it in there. Anyways, it's always a great day to beat them in anything so I'm stoked for the team!

I could not watch the game either.
Anyone out there catch the game and notice any changes on offense?
Did Epple play?
Does osu have a good face-off guy? I thought Finley would prevail here?

LAX,
What do you think Duke's chances are of making the tourney at this point? Do they need to win the ACC tourney to get in?

ND vs Syracuse at 5 PM on ESPNU. Think ND likely loses big on the road.

I think Epple might play this week, but really it's the offense to worry about for this game.

As for Duke, generally speaking you usually need an RPI of around 12 to get into the tournament.

Right now the ACC looks like:
Notre Dame - #7
Syracuse - #11
Virginia - #16
Duke - #19
UNC - #21

It's very hard to see all 5 teams getting in the field, because 3 out of 5 are below the line right now. Duke has a lot of opportunities left to pick up signature wins, but they're likely going to need to at minimum beat Notre Dame, Virginia, and Marquette while only losing 1 more to even have a chance. UNC, likewise, pretty much needs to run the table against Cuse/Virginia/ND to have a chance of getting in as an at-large. Virginia probably only needs to pick up 2 wins at some point in the coming weeks to get in.

But you start adding all of this up, and the math says that two of these teams are going to get left out... Notre Dame probably needs to pick up one more ACC win somewhere to punch their ticket.

9-4 ND at half. Excellent display by them so far.

Good to see a comfortable win, on the road, against a solid team/program. Also good to see the team score in double-digits for the time in several games.

That was a really, REALLY strong performance on so many levels. Great schematic changes on offense. Just super impressive.

Syracuse's only other losses are in OT to top teams on the road... and we just dismantled them in the Dome like no one has done in YEARS.

Hopkins getting RUN OVER by Rutgers right now... they're soooo lucky they got the breaks they did against Navy and Syracuse or they'd be in serious bubble trouble.

SWEET game! It gives me renewed hope that this team has what it takes to win it all this year. Kav looked like he is getting his swag back!
Nice to see Epple come in, even if it was the last minute. Hopefully that means he's close to ready.
What happened to Collins today? Did he get hurt?

Think Collins got a concussion, I'll ask later.

Epic! Obviously ND played a phenomenal game, but I do believe the cuse was distracted a bit from all the hype that was going on with all of their historical program activities.

What a day! Great team win in the dome. Nice see Kav playing so well. Was wondering if anyone knew what happened to Pat Healy? Solid contributor last year who hasn't played at all in 2016. Interested to see what's up with that.

Wild story unfolding at Princeton: Princeton Coach Bates Placed on Administrative Leave After On-Field Incident With Brown Player | Inside Lacrosse

ndlax2016... I have no idea how I missed the complete absence of Healy. In the fall I believe they split LSM reps pretty evenly between him and Crance behind Sexton if I'm remembering correctly... given that he has played zero minutes this year, he's got to be hurt or suspended or not in school. I'll ask tonight about him.

Also, I got complete radio silence on Collins/Koshansky/Wynne... which is troubling.

Ya, unless the coach has a joking around history with the player, which is obviously highly unlikely, that's pretty cheap.

No idea about Collins or Koshansky but surely Wynne was cramping....
I will say, when he came back in after he was calling for the trainer the first time, I was like, "What the crap....There's no need for him to be playing right now." Hopefully he didn't pull a hammy or anything.
