With all the bashing we've been doing about our recruiting lately, I thought I'd come up with a thread to discuss the positives of our class. There will be 3 awards; Michael Floyd award (Future Offensive Star), Manti Te'o Award (Future Defensive Star), and Cam McDaniel Award (Future Team Captain/Leader). Put down a 1st and 2nd place vote, and I'll tally once we've got a large response.

I admit to failing to follow recruiting this year on a day to day, and haven't really even went into recruiting threads unless there was a commitment (which is kind of ironic because I only started coming here for the recruiting info, but I digress).

What are the criticisms of this class? It looks pretty good to me just based on the little that I know.

I'm mainly talking about the recent talk that our recruiting strategy needs to be changed in some places. As for the class itself, I think its shaped up very nicely. Don't see any weaknesses besides safety.

Mainly stars. 2nd year in a row where we're going to be without a consensus 5-star. Honestly, don't mind it. Very little difference between Minkah Fitz and Shaun Crawford outside of height.

That hasn't been the gripe at all. Most are upset that ND has obvious needs at safety but the staff didn't seem to be prepared to stock the position. Some of the three star players here are well liked by pretty much everyone. They are fine with taking guys with plenty of upside especially if ND can develop them for a couple of years before they have to see the field. That simply isn't the case at RB or S.
