In my opinion, As long as their players have the military commitment, they should be able to sign as many players as they want.

I have no problems w it, just found it interesting when I saw the list. My comment about the $EC homers was nothing more than a gratuitous shot at the $EC.

I could be wrong but they don't give out athletic scholarships. Everyone who goes to the academies goes for free in return for service after graduation, thus they aren't hampered by the 25 or 85 man limit.

I know they are all "on Scholarship" if you will in that they don't pay but rather get their education in exchange for service. Again, fine by me.

Army had 68.

Navy's slacking. As they say at West Point "We're not Seamen"

As an aside, when Navy plays U$C, I guess it's the battle of the condoms and the seamen.

The question in that match-up is "Who will bend, and who will break?'

I'm inclined to agree with you, let them take 150 if they want, but that leaves me with a lot of questions though. Navy is under the same restrictions other schools are when it comes to 85 scholarship players, correct? I wonder how that works with military...my guess is these kids are exempt in some cases from football scholarships as Uncle Sam is paying for some of them as cadets and not football players? I don't know. Does Navy traditionally lose players to deployment prior to their senior year...and they finish their degree later? Makes me curious how they operate.

Well since they are not under an athletic scholarship then they probably can have as many players as they want on the team. We have walk-ons that makes us have more than 85 players. It's a little different since our walk-ons pay their way but only comparison I can think of.

Idk if this will change things or not as far as recruiting and the LOI is concerned moving forward, but I am happy for this kid for making a stand against this issue. Even though I think that it is perfectly fine for coaches to take jobs elsewhere, I still think that it is important for them to be forthright in their intentions. Early signing periods and new implications in the future will be interesting to say the least.
