Romeo Okwara didn't get much work last year. When we started off the spring, this was new for him at DE. We're beginning to see steady improvement but a lot of room left for him to grow. Our expectation is to see a different player than we did at the start of spring. The knowledge base is expanding in different circumstances. He hasn't been as much a first- or second-down player.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>BK - Fuller understands the game really well, but he doesn't apply the technique needed in every situation. It's coming though.</p>— Irish Sports Daily (@ISDUpdate) <a href="https://twitter.com/ISDUpdate/statuses/452086612638187520">April 4, 2014</a></blockquote>

ALSO POSTING LOU S. TID BITS

ALSO POSTING LOU S. TID BITS

Will Fuller feels like he can beat anyone vertically, whereas Corey Robinson is thinking leverage and body and work the sideline a little more. Golson has to get a feel with such new receivers. Those different nuances have to be worked through.

Expectations for Golson are attention to detail, taking care of academics and making sure he's a good teammate. He's met all of them so far. Football is new math for him so there is a learning curve for him too. Team has embraced him and has a likable person. He has never been a polarizing figure.

Ronnie Stanley extremely athletic for big fella, uses arm length to his advantage. Needs to work on being more physical. Has great awareness of putting his body in good position from his basketball days. Has good idea of where QB is in pocket.

We want to create more pressure and duress for the QBs, and maybe the net gain there will be turnovers. If they're throwing ball away, that's a plus too. It's a new mental frame the team has to adjust to.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>BK - you want your defensive personnel to be able to play multiple roles. having too many sub-packages can give away what you are doing.</p>— Irish Sports Daily (@ISDUpdate) <a href="https://twitter.com/ISDUpdate/statuses/452087344573587456">April 4, 2014</a></blockquote>

Defenses are trying to get to point where they can keep people interchangeable so there is not situational substitution that is easy for an offense to read.

From a football standpoint, he didn't live up to the rules that I lay out within our football program

this makes me think he just wasn't giving any effort, skipping meetings, being late to practice or sth along those lines.

I really thought that this was the year. 83 schollies isn't bad though.

I like this. It also makes me believe we won't telegraph the blitz like we used to.

especially w/ the play of walk on larkin

I'm shocked by this actually. It might be too early to know if he will actually ever get defensive snaps in a game, or if he will revert back to practice squad-special teams duty, but if he ends up having a similar impact as Schmidt... then it came out of nowhere.

I mean... admit it, fellas.... there has to be at least a few of you that didn't even know this guy was on the roster. amirite?

I did not know Larkin existed until we were watching one of the practices from the coaching clinic. He looked very skinny at the time and I thought he was at the linebacker position just as a quick throw in for one of the scholarship players

I was shocked this past week when I heard his name mentioned!

Isn't there one or two preferred walk-ons that are on scholarship watch?

Haven't heard any rumblings, but Cavalaris and Connor Little have got to be candidates. Cavalaris is a special teams mainstay and Little made the two deep at one point last year.
