The clearing is ****ing horrible right now. Rutgers timeout with about 5 minutes left. If ND could just clear the ball we'd probably have already iced the game.... but we've blown our last 3 clears. Ridiculous.

Sean Rogers scores his 4th goal of the game to put ND up 12-8 with 3:12 to go. That might do it.

BS call on ND gives Rutgers a man up with 1:28 to play. Ref that called it was halfway across the field and the ref standing right next to the play called nothing.

ND clocks in at consensus #6 in both polls following a week with wins @Ohio State and vs. Rutgers. ND also maintains an RPI of #3 and a Strength of Schedule of #5 right now... which are both very good and likely to dip a bit with games upcoming against St. Johns and Providence... although St. Johns is a pretty decent team.

ND's next game, against St. Johns, will be in the Big City Classic in NYC. It will be the only game of the triple header not broadcast on ESPNU... but I think there may be a feed on ESPN3. Johns Hopkins vs. UNC and Syracause vs. Duke will both be on TV.

Big game in the ECAC this week. #4 loyola takes on ohio at home for sole possession of first place.

Here is something interesting, during the game this past weekend I heard this every time Michigan scored. Scared the hell out of me because I didn't expect it.

Are goal horns in lacrosse common?

hahahaha no they are not.... although, I have seen them used in box lacrosse. Never ever have I seen a goal horn used in any level of field lacrosse. It's an interesting concept.

Here's a link to some limited video of the UNC vs. Maryland lacrosse fight I mentioned earlier: ACC Reviewing Maryland-North Carolina Fight; NCAA Rulebook Mandates One-Game Suspension (With Video) | InsideLacrosse.com

They cut out most of the good stuff :( But basically it resulted in the kid who started it (McBride) bleeding profusely out of the side of his head. It also lead to multiple penalties and some 4v3 lacrosse.... which took a sure victory for UNC to Maryland coming within literally inches of knotting up the game and sending it to OT.

The funniest part to me was that while the hit McBride took was dirty and penalized... it really wasn't anything to get his panties in a bunch about. But when you play for no-discipline Joe Breschi I guess a complete lack of composure comes with the territory.

Not NCAA related.... but holy heck is this goal sweet. One of the best I've seen in awhile especially when you consider the small target he's shooting on.

Any insight on good rutgers is since ND just played them? Michigan gets them on the road in late April.

Don't think you're going to have much of a shot. They're an average team all-around... OK at the faceoff X and have some pretty talented 1st line midfielders and their goalie played pretty well against us. No depth on their team. Their defense was very suspect (especially in the midfield) to the point where we ran 3 full lines of midfielders at them and all were very effective in creating offense.

If you can control faceoffs you might have a shot because you should probably be able to score on them at an OK clip.... but your defense just hasn't shown the ability to stop anyone this year so it'll be tough to pull out a W.

Good news... the ND vs. St. Johns game is going to be on ESPN3 this weekend. St. Johns is a pretty darn solid team with a good offense and could easily beat us... should be a fun game to watch.

#2 UVa vs. #9 Maryland is about to faceoff on ESPNU. Very important game for both teams.

Really good game right now. It was all Virginia early but Maryland's goalie heated up and the Terps got a couple really fortuitous bounces and went on a run. 7-7 heading into the 4th on ESPNU.

Michigan lost a close one at harvard today, 11-7. They really are improving every game. They only let harvard go on one run. From there on out, they only scored single goals. At one point they cut the deficit to two.

Next up, Michigan will be playing in the battle of winged helmets: vs delaware at home next Saturday at 1pm.

Game about to faceoff on espn3. St. Johns is going to be tough to beat... very good offense, goalie, and faceoff man. Kieran mcardle is legit.

ND holds serve at #6 in both polls and moves up to #5 in Quint's poll. ND also checks in with an RPI of #3 only behind .001 points behind Loyola at #2 and a good measure behind Hopkins at #1. ND's RPI will take a big hit next week though as the Irish take on Providence who is #59 out 61 in the RPI.

#4 Duke and #5 Virginia round out the top 5 in RPI. ND opponents Penn State, Denver, Ohio State check in at #13, #16, and #17 respectively.

Michigan checks in at #57 out of 61.

Some RPI shifts after yesterday's slate of games.... ND moves up to #2 in the RPI which is the only "poll" used in seeding.

denver was in a dogfight last night for 3 periods but eventually pulled away from last-place bellarmine. They won 12-6.

denver now leads ohio in the ECAC by .5 a game.

A key matchup today is #4 loyola at #14 fairfield. Both undefeated teams. If loyola wins, they would really take control of the conference and would have one tough game remaining against denver on the road in a primetime match-up.

ND up on Providence 3-1 right now in the second quarter. The Friars playing a pretty solid game so far. ND needs to be a bit more patient IMO.

UVa up on UNC 6-4 at halftime of a really good game on ESPN. UNC will be man-up heading into the 3rd quarter.

Providence is a bunch of sissies. Playing stall ball down 3 goals LOL. They just held onto the ball for 2:30 to kill the 2nd quarter rather than trying to go to goal... ND takes a 4-1 lead into halftime.

Shooting accuracy plaguing ND... but defense is completely dominant right now. ND carries a 6-1 lead into the 4th quarter and should be able to close out the game barring a miracle.

ND up 8-1 in the 4th and puts in the backups at all positions... even goalie. Game over.

FINAL ND 9 Providence 1

Virginia takes down UNC 14-10 and Loyola escapes against Fairfield 8-6. Big games between Lehigh/Colgate and Drexel/Penn State going on now.

A HARD fought loss for Michigan coming up short 11-7 at home against delaware. Only down 6-4 at halftime.

Next up is the game I have been waiting for since Michigan made the jump to D1.

Is the Denver vs. Loyola game going to be on TV? And is there an ECAC tournament?
