Visited for SC. Wiltfong gave him an ND CB over OU.

Excerpt from the article linked above

“When I first took my visit out there, I absolutely loved it,” Raym said. “The atmosphere, the campus, the beauty of the place. Everything about it, all the people, everybody was amazing. My connection with Notre Dame wasn’t (very strong) because I committed to Oklahoma. As soon as I de-committed from Oklahoma, less than thirty minutes after, I called coach (Todd) Lyght and he offered.

He decommits and he is not waiting for ND to contact him. He calls Lyght within 30 minutes of decommitting. That has to be a good sign.

Built like a guard but (as I say in the "offensive line" thread) is pretty light on his feet in pas pro.

If we could land him and Kevin Pyne, I will officially be over my grieving for Harry.

He just saw a Guard from ND get drafted number 6 and get almost $40 million in guarantees without having played an NFL snap. Also saw his teamate get drafted #9 and almost $30 million guaranteed. Kid, Mom and Pops see where OLine U is.

From a recruiting perspective I'm already over the grieving. We are going to put together a top 5 OL class, potentially top 3. The on field production is what might take longer.

SOO much OL talent in '20 and Quinn is going to be limited on scholarhips. Too bad cuz it's a loaded class and ND is well positioned with a ton of prospects.

How many does ND take in 20? 3 max?

Well, here's an estimate of the 2019 OL Roster...

3* RS SR Trevor Ruhland
5* RS JR Tommy Kraemer
4* RS JR Liam Eichenberg
4* JR Robert Hainsey
4* RS SO Joshua Lugg
4* RS SO Aaron Banks
3* RS SO Dillan Gibbons
4* RS FR Jarrett Patterson
3* RS FR Luke Jones
3* RS FR John Dirksen
3* RS FR Cole Mabry
4* FR Quinn Carroll
4* FR John Olmstead
4* FR Zeke Correll
3* FR Andrew Kristofic

In this list, I am assuming we pick up one more OL prospect being Zeke Correll. I honestly think ND ends up taking more than 1 more, but lets just say they take the minimum of 1 more. Then with Ruhland finishing his eligibility you'd have 14 scholarship guys coming back in 2020 with non-expiring eligibility. So Crus is absolutely right in the fact that it will probably be a small class. However, things always end up changing and I think you could see a few guys leave with such a loaded roster of talented guys. It looks right now like it would be no more than 3 guys, but obviously things change in two years at ND.

https://247sports.com/college/notre-dame/Article/Top-50-OL-I-absolutely-love-Notre-Dame-119992239/

“I definitely loved being there – loved the school, loved the atmosphere,” Raym said. “Actually, the atmosphere is probably my favorite thing about Notre Dame. The way it is at the games, after a touchdown, it’s amazing. The campus is beautiful, and I love the way the coaches coach. I love coach (Jeff) Quinn.

“He’s actually the only coach where me and my family altogether sat down and had a three-hour conversation with. I just love how personable he is. He’s super easy to understand and to get along with. He’s just a great guy to talk to, easy to talk to.”

With big-name programs in pursuit, several being close to home, and many additional offers sure to come, the Irish have carved out a strong spot among his suitors.

“One-hundred-percent, they’re honestly one of my top three (schools),” Raym said. “I absolutely love Notre Dame.

“I honestly stay in touch with only, like, five or six schools. Those are the ones I’m mainly focusing on right now. I’ll keep those close (to the vest) for the time being.

“I’m one-hundred-percent talking about making it up (to South Bend) again this year. I want to know what I’m going to do before I go into my senior year.”

I Google-mined local OK HS & OU message boards / comment sections a while back and there is a strong feeling by many that Raym will end up Irish.

So much talent ND is in great early position for in '20.

In the article it says he wants to play Guard or Center. Do you think that changes things for ND considering we just landed Zeke as our center? Granted he could play guard but I imagine ND would want Pyne and another Tackle to go with Raym as a Gaurd.

Also wondering if they take 4 OL next year depending on transfers, etc. Also Rivals boards are throwing out the idea that if Walter Rouse commits, they may explore him playing SDE. Similar to Tillery but on the end.

I don't think it changes anything. Too many variables in play between now and 2020 NSI.

If he wants to play OC, that could definitely impact him going to South Bend IF Quinn is 100% set on Correll being the OC in '20.

I doubt that will be the case. The combined resumes of BK at ND and BK/Quinn at CMU/Cincy is untouchable when it comes to developing talent, putting high draft pick OL's in the league that become Pro Bowlers. If he's smart, he (or Skoronski) would commit immediately because there is a chance only one interior guy gets taken next year.

An OK guy just crystal balled him to ND

He's following Wiltfong around today. He just recently started with OU/247 I think, all his CB's for the 2019 class came in the past week. Hopefully he had some prior relationship with OU recruiting at his previous gig and knows Raym well.

Regardless (or irregardless here on IE), can't hate the pick.

His football profile reminds me of Tristan Hoge. I hope this ends up better than Hoge's time at ND.
