Notre Dame’s next head coach recruits his offensive players like he’s playing a video game.

I love it.

I do like what Jeff Brohm is doing down in W Lafayette. Good for them!!! Tom Allen isn't doing to badly in Bloomington, either.

Absolutely right. In the game of college football where the sport is moving, guys like Lawrence Keys III and Braden Lenzy are paramount to a team’s success. Maybe one or both never pan out but guys like that who do indeed “make it” or figure it out are really really important weapons to have against the UGA’s of the world. Look at the damage Tutu Atwell and Javian Hawkins did to ND’s linebackers with underneath passes and runs around the field last week. ND needs as much speed as they can get. Marcellus Moore is worth a scholarship.

It's been about speed for a long time. When at Miami, Jimmy Johnson was very successful at recruiting speed at all positions except the O-line and QB.

I always wondered why we ever went for the fastest possible 3* kid we could get at the end of a cycle. With maybe a bar of 4.4? I know this sounds wild but I definitely think when you consider 85, we can stand to have 5-6 people at all times (not recruited straight up for speed like Fuller, Lenzy, Keys or Pride) that just flat out fly. If for nothing more than they could end up the guy above.

Hell, what if we just found the fastest and lowest rated recruits who have minimal power 5 that run a 4.3 or better? Bring all of them to a camp and the top 2 get offers?

Just a thought, probably a terrible one because I love speed and like to act as if speed is everything in big CFB.
