Interestingly enough, he was previously quite high on Stanford, as academics are important in his recruitment. However, after a spring/summer visit to the Farm, he essentially dropped them, lol. Never read what happened but obviously he didn't enjoy the visit. ND is positioning itself the be the "out of Texas" school in this recruitment.

At this point in his life I don't see him leaving for a non Power 5 University. If ND continues to play the way they have so far under Elko then he's got a max of 3 years at ND before he's a HC. IMO Elston is ND's next DC.

The way things are going now I think that is a very likely scenario but not a given by any means that Elston ends up as the next DC but I strongly believe that Elko won't be here more than 3 years at ND.

Most defensive coaches do not have the same ego/trajectory as offensive coaches, pay Elko and he will stick longer than you think IMO.
