What do you like? Can you expand on your thinking? I am genuinely curious

Not to speak for LL, but looking at it on paper:
2nd year Morrison > Freshman Morrison
2nd year Mickey > Freshman Mickey. Yeah he wasn't good at times, but he flashed in the Gator Bowl multiple times. Not every freshman can be Ben Morrison. I expect a big second year.
5th year Cam Hart =/> senior Cam Hart
Not to mention, Christian Gray and Micah Bell are the best additions we've had at corner in 15 years. Transfers TBD, but that is the best and deepest corner room that ND has had probably in my lifetime.

Looking at the safeties, Watts really came on late, Henderson showed improvement throughout the year, and Harper seems more than capable. I would not be one bit surprised if Shuler sees a good bit of PT, and it won't be out of necessity. It'll be because he's a baller.

It's a new thing for ND, but secondary seems to be the strength, followed by the LBs, with DL the real weakness at the moment.

Edit: And I somehow forgot Clarence Lewis. He will play a lot, wherever that is in the secondary.

I expect Harper is a quality player much like I think Hart is a quality player. Not like a stud but heck Bracy wasn’t before this year either. I think Watts is the most dynamic unknown (Morrison being known).

A lot of this was said above by others but...

- Obviously BenMo is a star. The best young CB we've had since Julian Love and we know how important he was as he progressed through the program. He's also clearly a better NFL "prospect" than Love was. Which is saying a lot as Love is a legitimate NFL player right now.

- I think Mickey is the real deal but he battled some inconsistencies which is common for True Freshman.

- Hart is a high quality P5 CB. Battled injuries, if he's back and healthy those 3 provide a great trio of CB's.

- I think moving Lewis to S will be a great fit for him. He's a solid football player that lacks the coverage skills of a CB. He's also a heavy CB. ND's roster has him at 203. That's 10lbs heavier than Watts, as an example. It could be a natural move to S that I was calling for very early last season.

- Xavier Watts is an ascending talent. He's a good athlete with natural skills that could be one-season away from playing NFL football.

- Henderson is a wild card but one that has elite speed. The play he made last season against UVA is something not many can make.

- I think Harper will be a productive player.

- The Freshman DB's are good. Shuler will be a ST's stud, early. Gray is about as good of CB prospect as they've land in recent memory. Bell has truly elite speed. Between those two guys you are adding a ton of speed. I don't expect that to translate into snaps or INT's right away but I get it'll be fun to watch them progress when they can run like that.

- And, while it feels like Barnes, Riley, Tucker, and Walters are afterthoughts. I'll bet that at least one of them helps this team next season.

Any of the last 4 you listed that could possibly also be looked at to transition to safety??

Would be very surprised if Philip Riley is a non-factor during his ND career. Lot of people were very high on him coming in.

Consider me aboard the hype train.

August can't get here fast enough. Bowl win over the SEC, Buchner healthy, Hartman and Harper transfer in.

Actual football as opposed to all this slapdick recruiting nonsense.

Haha! The NC hasn’t even happened yet. You sound like my kids on December 26… only 364 days until next Christmas!

On coming to ND from OSU:

“You have to go to class here…”

🤣
Refreshingly honest. Real difference in player interview under the new regime. Under Kelly they were so scripted and always on message that they were boring and useless.

Love hearing DJ Brown and Cam Hart helping him out. Old Wes guys doing what they should do and that’s lead.
