I agree that he should go get paid, but, he hasn't put that much tread on his tires compared to some recent high draft picks. He's just above 500 career touches, while guys like JT, Najee, Dobbins, etc. went into the league with 750-1,000 career touches.

If he does decide to come back, I don't think he can improve his draft stock much. But I also don't think teams will look at him as having too much wear if he gets 250 touches next year

also next season KW will share the backfield with tyree, diggs & estime. even though KW will be the #1RB i dont think he'll get an insane amount of carries, imo it'll be a RB by committee.

If he stays KW is getting the ball the most end of story!

According to his press conference he is considering it but is also considering not playing the bowl game which I think is more likely than him coming back.
I think he plays in the bowl game and then splits.

I unapologetically tell people now that my favorite player from Notre Dame is him, and that’s based off a long list of student athletes who have inspired in incredible ways.

I would never fault him for leaving next year and going pro.

But sometimes love is stronger than money. And if he wants to come back to try to win a title with players and coaches he loves, then sometimes a special circumstance like that is worth the risk. It’s a unique situation that can’t be had by going pro.

He’s a legend whatever he decides.

All of that but also He is a captain and if he is healthy he should play in the bowl game. If he were a healthy scratch I would understand but definitely takes some bloom off the rose.

I’d be shocked if he doesn’t play in the bowl. I’m kind of disappointed Kyle Hamilton isn’t playing in the bowl. But I confess this is an old school look, the game has changed, and there’s a lot of money on the table for an injury prone Kyle.

according to 247sports kyren williams is thinking about returning for his senior year. if KW wants to come back for his senior year that would be awesome to get his production and leadership next year.

This is a new report, Not still talk of his comments post senior game?

don't you dare be disappointed if KH doesn't play in the bowl. Seriously. How dare you?

Kyren might come back for love of Our Lady... but KH has a shot at being a top 3 pick, ya weirdo.

(There is nothing "old school" about risking millions of dollars for a Fiesta Bowl)

Sorry that made me mad.

Read what I wrote, please. Don’t come at me disrespectfully with the weirdo comments when I countered my flawed honesty with a sobered response that I was thinking in an old school way. Of course, I don’t wish ill on Kyle in anyway and am appreciative of his time at ND. Thanks.

Anyway, Kyren. Great player.

Word... I apologize.

I shouldn't have come like that, my bad. Weird night. Lots of emotions lately.

Mea culpa.

No worries, man. I know what you mean. It’s been a rough go lately, but here’s hoping the corner turns soon. So do take care.

Football is perseverance, sacrifice, and unity. I think that’s partly why we gravitate to it, because it gifts us with inspiration to stay strong through tough times.

I hope we get to see Kyren and Kyle in the Blue and Gold again, but if not, they’ve brought a ton of inspiration and raised the standards for the next gen. Peace.

Hot take, Wish they would kick the kids off the team when they do this. Would never happen, but are you really on the team if you refuse to play in the games?

Surprising. Hopefully this means more practice reps for the young guys these next couple weeks.

He probably hired an agent who told him to declare and skip the bowl to minimize risk. Hard to imagine Kyren deciding to do this on his own.

Yeah this one stings a bit since it's hard to reconcile with recent speculation that he was considering returning for a another year. Just seems surprising that someone was considering "risking" another year, but now decides he can't "risk" another game.

wonder how much of the OkSt run defense had to do with this. I.E. might not have been a positive rushing attack for us so he doesnt want any "bad taste" left in someones mouth?

Coach leaves and the team & program has a massive opportunity to prove themselves in a top 10 matchup on a national stage, setting the tone for the Freeman era ... and both captains don't care. Love this new world of college football.

If we had 2 losses mid-way through the season, would Kyren have been "justified" in not playing since the games "didn't matter"? This is a very slippery slope.

I hear you, but there is the Jaylon Smith thing.

And once you open the door to considering a "career" beyond ND it becomes a family thing. And there are kin in St. Louis

but you know me, I'm so tolerant.......

Not sure that I like his decision, but I understand and respect it. All it takes is one play and he blows out his knee.

Tyree is healthy and Diggs has shown he is capable.

Good luck in the NFL, KW. I’ll cheer for you anywhere you end up except the Pats…

”…with the [insert pick number] in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft, the New England Patriots select Karen Williams, RB, Notre Dame.”

Funny people will say ridiculous things like "Bench Coan for the bowl so we can see what we have with Buchner", but then get mad when a player makes a decision like this. I really like what we've seen with Diggs, and even Estime in his limited action this year. Looking forward to them getting the extra reps. Obviously, the biggest loss here is missing Kyren's pass blocking against the best pass rush in the country.
