Wouldn’t be surprised if he just quit CFB altogether and instead landed in Cali or AZ to train for the NFL draft. I believe he’s a junior so he’d be draft eligible.

I saw an article showing him standing in front of 2 Chevys (I think) that he had just received as comp for NIL. Out in front of a dealership. How are they feeling?

These numbers are certainly not the most atrocious I've ever seen. He's been sacked 11 times? Madonna Mia!

Can someone explain to me how Rattler benefits from playing another down in college? There could be multiple parties who benefit from him transferring to another school and Rattler himself is not one of those.

All that I have seen of the kid leads me to believe he's an ass with some growing up to do, but at the end of the day, whoever is advising him needs to tell him to just leave the team and start getting ready for the Draft since he's eligible. It's not like by doing so his reputation will be further damaged because at this point it appears there is baggage and he's potentially a head case/damaged goods.

He doesn't benefit by going to another school and I don't know what good can come from him staying at OU either.

In spite of all of this, I don't think his stock has fallen nearly as much as people think.

503 pass attempts on film, he removes himself from any further cancerous situation that could provide more drama and he can't get hurt if he doesn't play.

With Rattler — the fact that he couldn’t succeed at a school that has had nothing but QB success recently means that he likely has Ian Book level draft value right now for opposite reasons. People will see him as a high upside player that will likely bust. Book was seen as a high floor player that is likely a career backup. Neither is a player someone will invest in early, but some team looking for that fit will take a flyer on him in the middle rounds.

The only way to improve his draft stock, IMO, is to go play in a different type of scheme AND succeed. Even succeeding somewhere else in a throw-it-around-the-field spread isn’t going to do anything for him because people will ask why he failed at Oklahoma when Mayfield, Murray, and Hurts succeeded.

Other than one half against Texas it’s hard to call his time at OU a failure. He had game last year with 3 picks but aside from that he only threw 4 the rest of the year against 28 TDs. It’s not like Golson getting replaced by Rees. Caleb Williams is a f’n stud 5 star and will be a Heisman favorite for the next few seasons. I can’t get upset over a guy looking out for his NFL future.

I agree. The kid needs to grow up some yet and that comes with time. I'm not trying to carry water for him, but in looking at the numbers and the fact that OU is unbeaten, I'm having a real hard time feeling sorry for OU fans who are all bent out of shape.

I don't see how another down of college football does him good. I get he has more to prove, but the OL this year has done him zero favors, so if he does want to play another year he'd better look at who is going to have experienced returning starters on the OL in 2022 and start his process in the transfer portal there.

Kirk is being super weird on the broadcast trying to temper the Williams hype for some reason. It’s like way overcompensating. He stepped out of bounds before the first down marker and Kirk was trying to act like it was this huge point to go over in film and then threw a TD pass and Kirk kept saying it was a late throw
