The main reason he transferred was he wanted to be closer to his family.
Sampson talked about it last year & said his dad would coach Friday night, then travel all night to SB or wherever ND was playing, visit him, then travel home all day Sunday. Every weekend for 3 years.

So maybe the most fun was be being closer to his family?
