Just a call that can't be made in the AFC Championship game, IMHO.

Guy played great, and was chasing down a QB trying to get the first down marker and put his team into field goal range. It's such a bang bang play and I wish the refs had kept the flag in their pocket.

Feel horrible for him, and felt even worse when they kept cutting to him on the sidelines crying. I hope he bounces back and becomes an even better player for it.

It was blatantly late. Refs had no choice.

Coaching staff and admin seem to have good stability and support mechanisms just based on their results of recent. He'll get past it soon enough. By camp come July everyone will have moved on.

As a Bears fan, I see this Bengals team as a good model to follow in terms of building a franchise around a first time HC and young QB. They're going to be around for a while.

Blatantly late? Ossai comes into contact with Mahomes before the latter's foot comes down OOB. It was borderline at best, and should not have been called in light of how they called the rest of the game when it came to hits on the QB all afternoon.

Here's the thing... I thought it was really late live.

On replay from the back angle, his hand first touches Mahomes as he is in the air headed out of bounds but before his foot as touched down out of bounds. The follow through and trip is like 2-3 full steps out of bounds. It's more unlucky than anything else.

This isn't the call (or calls) that I'd be mad about for being called (or not called). Only thing that sucks is the outcome. Kid was playing an amazing game.

I feel awful for the guy. The bright side is he didn't wreck his knee AND lose them the game. That hyperextension looked gnarly, I'm glad he at least can get back to the gym and work past it.

Exactly. All these people that think the refs should swallow their whistles near the end of a game are also saying teams should just go ahead and start cheating.

If it's a penalty in the first few minutes of a game it better be called near the end of a game.

He got shoved at full speed by a guy that's 6-4, 260. He didn't need to sell anything. Physics and gravity took care of it.

I just thought it was a stupid decision in a critical moment. You know as a player he’s headed to the sidelines to stop the clock. In the event he does turn upfield, Ossai had a teammate right there to force him out or make a tackle inbounds.

When you put yourself in a situation like that, nothing good is going to come out of it.

He’s gotta be smarter than that. Mahomes wasn’t turning upfield and there was no shot to tackle him inbounds and run out the clock, but it’s hard to tell someone not to follow their instincts. Sucks for him. Hope Cinci fans are forgiving.
