Could be wrong, but I think he can do whatever the hell he wants in terms of "self-led tours", etc. Just no contact *wink, wink*
I think people in the portal can do whatever the hell they want in terms of visiting places on their own dime. Not 100% sure though.

Perhaps. Either way, all it means (at worst) is no in-person contact between staff and recruit. MFMF can literally stand next to him and exchange texts tho lol - the dead period does NOT apply to digital forms of communication.

Thanks, probably some mix or version of everything above. It definitely applies in some fashion, even to the portal, just the grad stuff in particular probably frees you up.

Back when he was first mentioned, on a podcast, I think maybe Prister, had mentioned that everyone reporting this would be over soon were misinformed. Said he spoke to Fiske & Braden straight up told him he would be taking the decision slowly & wouldn’t do it until January.

So despite multiple sites saying it would be a quick one, he himself said January. Looks to be the case.

Ryan Roberts mentioned on the latest IB show that he was told by a source that the two main schools are ND and FSU.

Roberts believes that he is a seamless fit at ND, and that ND makes sense from an environment/comfort standpoint. Says there's a good chance but that ND needs to close.

Fiske told Roberts that his original timeline was the beginning of January, and that likely isn't to change as Fiske is not wanting to rush his decision.

A lot of grad transfers seem to be winding up close to home, like Phil J and the DE from Stanford who went back to Louisville. Would be perfect if the one decent grad transfer from close by us heads to Florida or Southern California.

Loy seems a little concerned ND could get NIL’d here. Would be brutal to lose this kid. He seemed like a sure thing and is a big time need.

If we can't pull a guy who grew up 30 minutes from South Bend, with ND's reputation for getting DL to the league, because of NIL, I really don't know what to say.

This is just getting ridiculous. What are these schools offering? And how do they guarantee it?

He should definitely get as much money as he can. I’d tip USC. They pay up.

I didn’t read Loy’s post that way but maybe I’m missing something. Sounds like if they miss, it’s because of NIL. Like no duh. A kid that wants to be close to home isn’t choosing a school thousands of miles away because he likes the program

I would assume SC needs guys like him on D badly and would be willing to pay. Plus, the kid isn’t a true freshman anymore so he may like the idea of sunny LA or sunny Tallahassee and all the perks that go with those two universities.

Always judge recruits on their actions not their words. If he’s visiting FSU and USC he’s looking for a bag

0.0% surprised. Most top level transfers want a significant financial commitment and most schools with collectives are prepared to give it.

I don't care about NIL for HS players... being able to land top level transfers is what will make or break ND.

Where did he say he wanted to stay close to home? It’s a preference, not a necessity .

From the first post:

“Playing time is the biggest one, being able to make an impact on the field…Then secondly, getting my family to games. That's a big one for me being from the Midwest and I'm not opposed to leaving, but being able to get my family to travel to games is huge for me."

The issue is I’m sure USC and FSU will lay out how much a few flights cost
