2 in state 5 star studs, two years in a row. Will really be an awesome class if they pick up Brooks too.

Too many injuries to be competitive with Duke, @Duke.
Running a 3 guard system, with only 3 guards is tough lol. When 2 are true frosh, even harder. And Morgan can hardly leave the floor. Got to get healthy for conference play.

Duke has 5 stars at every position. and had the #1or2 class last year. i went into that game with VERY low expectations.

NC State scores 24 points - I thought that was halftime score when I first saw it. Holy hell they can be fire and ice.

Good night for CBB. Duke goes down, and NC and KY have close calls. Best is IU, after pissing away their last 2 games vs top 25 teams (one in OT, the other with 3 secs left), they finally get one vs a top 20. Took them 2 OTs, but I'll take it.

Refs have been shit to IU in Big10 play this year. It's about time they got a little luck/love. I actually didn't think they were too good to IU overall. Not sure how many charge calls they gave to Wiscy, but seemed like a lot. Langford FINALLY hits a game winner.

I thought this was an interesting take from Bilas. Probably some truth to it.

The solution to the block-charge call is to change the officials’ signal. If the charge signal is changed from the “violent air punch” to the signal for a shot clock violation (tap of the head), charge calls would be cut in half. I haven't been able to figure out what is wrong with IU this year, but Archie can't afford a repeat next year.

I must be dense, because this makes no sense to me. The signal is given after the foul, not before. Coaches will still teach kids how to take a charge. Refs will stop calling it because they have to tap their head? Kids will stop taking a charge because the ref taps his head?

I think he's being sarcastic, saying refs enjoy violently punching the air more than tapping their heads.

I don't think it is sarcasm lol. It's funny, but it's a legit suggestion.

Refs get into the game just like the players. Every time UC has been in a close game this year, when it gets late in the second half, you suddenly notice refs getting very theatrical with their block/charge calls.

If you made the signal something that would look super dumb if enacted with enthusiasm, refs wouldn't be so quick to make borderline calls on plays that could be "play on" situations.

There are borderline block/charge calls early in games where the refs swallow the whistle, because they know both guys are trying to buy a foul on minimal and legal contact. That same play gets whistled with enthusiasm later on.

Baseball Umps like to ring a guy up on a called third strike.

Basketball Refs love to punch the air on a charge.

On the true borderline calls for baseball and basketball, I would bet money that it's not a true 50/50 outcome.

IU, at 15-14, clawing back to get on the bubble again. some of the talking heads saying that 2 wins (vs IL and Rutgers) and 17-14 will be enough to get them in. Not sure how I feel about an 8-12 conference record getting into the dance regardless of 6 Q1 wins.

Bob Knight is on Indiana campus today taking in a baseball game. First time on campus since he was fired. Kind of a big deal.

Fitting he's in the news during this Final Four. A lot of his influence will be on display during these last 3 games.

No idea where to place this. Never even heard of Brad Davison before today. What an A Hole.

Am I looking at this correctly? The ACC has four teams that will make the tournament this year, MAYBE five if NC State squeezes in?

The Illinois-Iowa game last night was excellent TV. Quite a turnaround by Illinois this year. Coach is in year three of his tenure there and has things moving.

You could tell there was a sense of urgency for both teams and that neither one liked the other. Really fun stuff.

Actually saw a Duke player below a UNC player in the face and the UNC player was called for the foul. That's peak Duke Basketball.

Big Ten basketball is just brutal. It's football. The best players in the country have actually told recruiting analysts that they don't want to play in that conference because of style of play.

Couple that with terrible officiating and it's no wonder that Wisconsin with a 21-10 record is going to win the Big Ten. It's ugly, with guys throwing elbows at each other with no whistles.

10 teams will make the tourney and they are all like 13-7 to 9-10 in league play. It's ridiculous.
