Is that true?

I mean who has said... I committed to ND because they provide an excellent education but I flipped my commitment to Stanford because academically, it's even more excellent.

I remember a Dline from Indiana that did as well, a few years back. What was his name again?

The only Indiana lineman I can think of (unless you're talking 5-10 years ago and I missed /forgot someone) was last year. Jovan Swan from Center Grove (Russ Yeast's HS) but ND never offered him. They kicked the tires with him but passed and if anything, I think he may have been waiting for a ND offer that never came cuz he committed late.

Is that who you were thinking about?

Stanford is the real deal on the academics side of things. These kids are making respectable decisions.

It's the only school that kids flip to from us for academics. Goodness we need to start kicking their tail again.

Agreed. The only differentiator against Stanford is the spiritual side of ND. Stanford mostly wins in academics and has been winning on the field. If we can stomp dat azz, then we have 2/3 again and the academics ain't too shabby. Business majors have a reason to stick with ND.

But Stanford also has external factors like location and women.

Found it. It was Blake Lueders. That's 7 years ago though haha. Time flies.

So you think the average kid sees the spiritual side of ND as an advantage? I think there is a great deal of kids, even spiritual ones, that see the religious aspect of the University as a negative. Too stuffy and/or restrictive. They want sun, babes and debauchery. Not saying Stanford offers all of that. But it's in Cali and has great academics. As long as their football is good, I kinda get why we keep getting wet willies from them on the recruiting trail.
