Any chance here whatsoever?

11 CB's to Tennessee. 9 CB's to Clemson. Late to the party. But it's better late than never to connect your name to the top recruits because you never know. ND will always be the #1 alternative for those wanting to get away and walk a different path.

Don't be disrespectful. We might not see another Randy Moss. Same dude who basically ran a 4.2 and could jump out of a building. Plenty of other receivers to compare him too instead of the second best of all time

Agreed, he looks more like a Wes Welker type to me.

I actually believe Notre Dame offered him quite a while ago, but contact had dropped off and he actually didn't know he had an offer from talking to a couple people in Tennessee.

I know there was talk last spring of him wanting to play both basketball and football in college and Notre Dame was supposedly looking into it at the time.

But, I doubt this goes anywhere. I wouldn't say it's too late to get involved, but I think he is pretty set on where he wants to go.

WTF? This is the second time I've read this recently. This tells me, either the staff isn't always clear when offering, or the kid isn't really interested and wasn't listening closely to the conversation.

piiiiii piiii hey kid piii hey kid, yes you come here. You see that kid over there, the tall string bean. Here's a note I want you to give him...it's a Notre Dame offer. Thanks kid! Exit coach. Kid throws note away and whispers Good Ole Rocky Top.

Well there is also a number of other situations. Back when he was originally offered, contact is extremely limited, so Notre Dame could have told the coach he had an offer and that message was delivered to the young man in an unclear way.

In relation to the coach, Notre Dame could have also said Higgins had an offer if he met such and such standards with grades. For example: Notre Dame could say if Higgins has a certain GPA and coursework, he was an offer. Something along those lines.

Another situation that might be more of a circumstance in this recruitment is that when Higgins committed to Tennessee, Notre Dame kind of dropped off contact, as it wasn't too likely he was going to come to Notre Dame in the first place, but chances immediately decreased then. Time passes without contact, Higgins decommits from Tennessee, then when Notre Dame started contact back up, there was just simple confusion on if he had an offer.

I don't really blame Notre Dame or Higgins given the situation. Heck, it might actually turn into more of a positive with the Irish having momentum of offering a kid again.

told his coach there is interest in ND

"I'm pretty sure he would wants to get up there for a visit," Graham said on Wednesday. "Coach Elston and I had a relationship before I moved back home. He came and saw him last spring."

"I want to major in communications," Higgins told Volquest.com. "My education and my major will play a role. Playing time doesn't matter to me because I know I'm going to have to come in and earn the spot no matter where I go."

This whole Tee Higgins, Amari Rodgers, Tee Martin dynamic is strange to me. If I'm Higgins, I couldn't go play with Rodgers at UT-K. Weird.

He's obviously named after him... I don't know if I could have a teammate who knew my Mom had a crush on his Dad. I'd go to ND if I were him.

didn't ever see anything like this...but did some digging "I was named after Tee Martin," Higgins explained. "(Higgins' mother) said she was watching a game and she was in the hospital with me and she saw his name and liked it."

Well I figured / knew Tee Hiiggins was named after Tee Martin being that he's from E Tennessee and was born when Tee Martin was the QB in Knoxville.

What I didn't know was Rodgers committed to Clemson. When I heard he committed recently, I thought it was to UT. Regardless, if HJ goes to Clemson, Rodgers is going somewhere else. Could end up in Knoxville, even though they're loaded at QB. At least there he's got a year between him and Guarantano. Those are probably the LAST two schools in the SE I'd be looking at as a QB right now.

Why? One is a QB, other is a WR.

My bad, I was on my phone doing too many things at once. Conflated my Rodgers / Higgins & Johnson / Brice stories into one copy/paste/edited mess.

I think Higgins will go to Clemson with Rodgers... even though I was making the joke about Higgins being named after Rodgers' Dad and how I couldn't do it.
I don't think Brice will end up at Clemson if HJ is there but it wouldn't surprise me if HJ ends up at UTk anyways even though he'd be coming in behind Guarantano.

“It feels good. It feels really good,” said Higgins regarding his latest offer from the Irish. “I like the way the play. I like the crowd. I like the offense. It’s nice. I just need to get down there for a visit. I’m probably going to get there this summer.”

“I’m still looking at Notre Dame. I’m still learning,” said Higgins. “I know they offer a good degree. It would mean a lot to have a degree from them.”

“I did see the combine stuff,” said Higgins. “I definitely saw Will Fuller. I saw what he did there.”

Hell yeah. Hope Will goes in the first round and does work in NFL his rookie year. Glad Tee paid attention to that 4.32 time!
