Q: Was there ever a school not on the West Coast you ever felt he was intrigued in?

Phillips: “Certainly Notre Dame he was intrigued. From the beginning his preference was to stay on the West Coast closer to home. Michigan also has very good academics. A lot of kids are pretty interested in Michigan these days. But Notre Dame would’ve been the one he was most interested in outside the region.”

Damn I wish we would have gotten a visit! Sounds like he would have really liked ND, but family at UCLA won out. Maybe we get him on for an OV, I wouldn't doubt it

Miami may have a better transfer class than recruiting class

They are absolutely loading up on talent from the transfer portal. I kind of hope Tate Martell gets immediate eligibility but I doubt seriously that’s going to happen. They have a chance to go 9-3 or better with the way their schedule sets up. They’ll probably get boat-raced by Florida in the opener but then they have 3 straight very winnable games and then VT, Virginia, and maybe Pitt are bowl teams left on their schedule. I’d be surprised if they didn’t have a top 5 2020 recruiting class as well because Manny Diaz loves the recruiting game and has been all in on it since day 1. All of this will be a moot point if they can’t figure out their offense but I think Dan Enos is the man for the job. Starts with Tate Martell, N’Kosi Perry, Cade Weldon, Jarren Williams, and Peyton Matocha.
