I really like wimbush but i really dont want to sit here next year with people complaining he's pulling a zaire being a debbie downer on the sideline. If he doesnt get the start i hope he gets a transfer. He deserves to start somewhere.

I wouldn't give up on Wimbush just yet. We could have a true platoon situation next year. (of course that two-QB approach worked so well in 2016)

Way I see it is he can either 1) insist on playing QB (and sit on the bench) or 2) convert to an offensive skill position and hope it's not too late to work his way up the depth chart. I like Wimbush, was very excited to see him take the reigns this year, but I think 12 games is a big enough sample size to know whether or not he's got it or not. If he was a frosh, I'd prolly be in the "one more year" camp, but alas -- he's headed into his 4th year on this team.

I think BW has lost the trust of the coaches, so regaining the starters role will take a significant leap in his ability to pass the football.

I think Book goes in next year pencilled in as the starter and camp will be very competitive.

The one potential negative is, how will Wimbush react. Will he pout and be a distraction? Will he work his ass off to win the starting role? Will he transfer? Will he change positions?

Hopefully migraine free today.

Go IRISH

Kelly said he missed two practices with migraines and Book had most of the snaps in practice. Gameplan was to use both but Book got more snaps because migraines returned during game.

I think its clear we have a QB controversy (again) heading into fall. PJ needs to get a hard hard look in the fall. Book needs to improve some areas of his game but I think Wimbush experiment is over. Sadly. We cant have an inaccurate QB making poor on the field decisions. Not sure what happened over the course of the year but it has worsened to a detriment IMO.

I'm positive Kizer had migraines in his second or third start this year also. Browns lost but this migraine excuse Is seemingly heretical.

I don't think BW will be a distraction if he's not the starter.

Damn, I like multi-sport athletes, but how great would it be to have Phil EE?

I'm torn on how i feel today. Today cemented what I have been saying all year: Wimbush should not be the QB anymore. But what is Book's ceiling?

Ugghh what?

Every time he plays poor they blame it on migraines....which I don't buy.

If they are real...that's a great reason. Need all the schollys we can get. Tired of playing with down numbers year after year.

People with severe migraines don't pace the sideline. They sit with their eyes closed and hope for it to pass..

In the first half, BW made as many poor decisions in the running game as I have seen all year. He had a number of opportunities to keep the ball and run for decent yardage, but instead just handed off to Adams to run into 3-4 defenders.

He really must have lost his confidence since the Miami game.

When have they said that about BW in the past? Which games?

Zaire was terrible and in no way an ND QB starter! He would have lost the Virginia game in which he got hurt.

Don't lie to yourself dude. We were about to go up by two scores, with the next play being a Prosise TD run to put us up 26-14. Yeah we were slow out the gate but don't just lie here

True. However, BK doesn’t need to shy away from it based on what happened with Kizer/Zaire. Instead, he needs to learn from it. My hope is that there’s an open QB competition going into Spring. The overriding hope would be that this lights a fire under BW and he realizes he has to seize the position once & for all. I like this better than going into the Spring w/ BW still named as starter & resting on his laurels. Let there be a healthy competition and may the best QB win.

As far as PJ, I’d be shocked if a true freshman could come into fall practice, learn the system and then leapfrog the other 3 QBs on the depth chart for game one vs scUM. Were he an EE, he’d have a shot I suppose and I do believe he is the future.

Yeah, IIRC; literally the next play was a toss to Prosise to the house. Didn’t matter who QB was on that first play.

Id be interested in what NDCrusader thinks about PJ being able to come in and challenge Book or Wimbush for the starting position. I appears to me PJ has all he tools to come in a play as a freshmen. I agree a competition is in order and I think Wimbush needs serious strides in decision making and mechanics/accuracy. Book has some limitations as well but he seems to have that IT factor.

Agreed. Just seems like a big ask for a true frosh whose not an EE.

Was Fromm an EE @ UGA?

I think these migraines are a big deal and will continue to haunt him. I have a family member who is afflicted with them...it's horrible. I'm praying for him.
