Not sour grapes but if Soso wants to play bball through college (which I do doubt he does), I'd take this guy over him. I liked his film a lot. Greg Bryant minus an ab or two.

Jordan Cronkrite reverses, won’t go to UM

Cronkrite said Monday he has not heard from UM’s coaching staff since July.

Before Scarlett committed to UM on July 8, Cronkrite told the Miami Herald that he doubted he would still be committed to the Hurricanes and would “probably look somewhere else” if other players were added to the mix.

Anybody know what position we want him at? We're a little full in the backfield.

Running back. We need one more and SOSO hasn't pulled the trigger

When did that happen?

Yeah really. I would say it's just the opposite. Right now have only Tarean and Greg coming back, and Adams is still coming off a major injury. 2 returners going into their junior years with an incoming freshman off an ACL is definitely not a crowded backfield IMO.

Why did I think we had another RB committed? Must have been all the talk about Brossette and Scarlett? Either way, I think we're okay next year at RB with TF and GB.

Hasn't Adams been playing this year for his HS team?

Sure, although he is out now again I think. Either way, a player with a previous ACL tear is very susceptible to 1) not ever being the same player again, 2) re-injuring the same leg or 3) hurting the other leg in compensation. Have seen all 3 happen before.

Either way, with Adams healthy or not, are you comfortable with him being our only backup to Folston and GB next year? Does his previous injury history not play even a small factor in the consideration?

RBs get hurt all the time. They take a pounding. One of those 2 go down and you have 1 RB besides a true freshman who needs time in the weight room and has an injury history.

Idk, maybe it's just me but the RB situation as it stands right now is not making me comfortable from a depth perspective going into next year.

Agreed, we really need to add another RB in this class and I'm hoping that we make this a priority down the stretch here. I know that we're holding out for Soso but I don't believe this is a situation that we can whiff on going forward.

No, I'm not comfortable with him being the only backup. I was mainly asking for clarification purposes.

But I do feel more comfortable with a guy that is 2 years removed from his surgery than 1.

In the scary event of us not being able to pick up another RB (as unlikely as that may be):
A) Do you think we would move someone from another position or potentially use a walk-on?
B) If yes, then do you think there is anyone that we might move from another position to help us out?

I would think Justin Brent would top that list (other than Carlisle, of course). Perhaps Tranquill?

An obvious choice, but does he have the ability to take the beating necessary? Has the staff given up on the idea of him as a possible RB?

Then again, hopefully our 3rd string back doesn't get too many touches.

With our linebacker recruiting success Onwualu could cross train back on offense for emergency situations, he already knows the system and has both the size and athleticism to make do.

It seems as though there is legit interest but per Wiltfong there is some classroom work that needs to be done if he were to want to attend ND.

Cronkrite was a Miami committal, and now, Dexter Williams has set up an official to Notre Dame for the Louisville game. Joseph Yearby is Duke Johnson's heir apparent in an offense scheme that likes to showcase the running back.
