Anyone else watch the game? ND just won 56-51. Hansbrough had 19 and carried them. Huge win. We're off for the rest of the week so should be ranked somewhere 7-10 next week. 9 games left and only 3 against ranked teams. Crazy we have a chance at a 2 or 3 seed this year.

How do we beat #2 Pitt, but when I see them play unranked St. Johns they get crushed?

I was sitting first row behind the pitt students. When that game ended, oh the sweet sound of silence...

No Carleton Scott, he is a main factor. He is a huge leader on this team. Also had 16pts this game, most on 3's

This. He is both a great defender with his length and a great offensive option with his ability to shoot the three. This is a very dangerous team when fully healthy. Remember, even the 'Cuse game was close before Scott went out. We only have one healthy loss, and that is to Kentucky in Kentucky and even that was a close game. Very excited to see an over-performing team.

Its amazing how similar basketball and football are . All sports for that matter. It seems the BBall program turned around last year when Bray slowed the game down and the Irish started playing great defense. Now during Football recruiting Kelly is obviously saying defense wins championships. Look at how the SF Giants shocked everyone. Pitching and defense. Its so great to see basketball get some props.

This team is the truth!!! Experience means so much in college sports and this team has a ton of experience. Love watching them play and I love watching Ben take over down the stretch. They ran the same play 3 times in a row in the last 3 minutes and Hansborough drove and got a layup each time. This was not easy. Pittsburgh had won 20 straight at home. Love it!!!

And to think, we get Abromaitis, Martin and Scott back next year (assuming all stay for a 5th year)...not to mention Atkins for 3 more years. The future is bright :)

We should be solid next year one would think. Atkins at PG with Abro and Martin playing the 2 and 3 and Scott down low with Cooley. Brooks still coming off the bench is good too then you just need 1 or 2 more guys to step up. I'm thinking Broghammer as one and then one of the other freshman, either Grant or Dragicevich. Losing Ben sucks. I honestly think hes the most important player to a team that Brey has ever had besides Troy Murphy who was around seemingly forever ago. He's the only guard Brey has ever had who can actually consistently create his own shot. Their stats are comparable and Abro is the man but Ben>Abro and its not even close. You can shut Abro down and essentially take him out of the game on offense but its just not possible with Hansbrough.

although im happy for the win, I highly doubt we will get that high of a seed. remember we have been known to lose to teams who are horrible and we have been known to not make it past the first round of the tourney. it was a good win though. just dont be surprised if we lose to depaul.

Great game, Scott is a baller and Hansbrough is a crazy ball of energy. He took over with 4min on the clock. This team reminds me of Butler last year. They are all vets, who have great chemistry. If they can beat Pitt, they can beat anybody.

What a great all around effort. I love Digger defending the BURN vs Davis at half time and then being proven right in the second half. Brey may have finally learned that:
1) It is crazy to try to outrun a league that is more athletic than you.
2) You gotta use some bench to keep your top guys fresh and give some extra fouls down low.
3) A little bit of head and heart go a long way on defense
4) A solid system run by seniors can do well (CONSISTENTLY) in an NCAA overrun with one and dones and streetballers.

We also have 3 top ten wins and all of our losses are on the road (yes, playing in Kentucky against Kentucky was technically a "neutral site"... but come on) and of those losses 3 were with Carlton Scott (arguably our best player) hurt. Expect a 3 seed if we continue to play well down the stretch. Dangerous games from here on out are @WVU, vs. Louisville, @UConn and vs. Villanova. If we split those 4 games and win our first round BE tournament game we will be, at worst, a 4 seed.

Great season to have season tickets for the Irish. I've had them since 2004 so it's pretty nice to see these guys finally hitting stride. It's been fun watching them grow up together and what they're finally accomplishing. I'll never forget how much I hated Harangody last year. He was a complete ballhog. Notice how that when he went down, the team started playing well. His injury not only helped us last year but this one as well. Notre Dame has a somewhat cake schedule remaining compared to the last month. If we can take care of business on the road where we can never seem to win, we could be realistically looking at a 2 seed at the lowest. Notre Dame has always been able to win at home without any problems. This win was HUGE for confidence for the coming road games against inferior teams. Win the games were supposed to on the road, maybe a loss to WVU and UConn and a good showing in the Big East tourney and we could be witnessing an Elite Eight team! I've always said that ND could beat any team on any given day. Now they're proving that they can do it with more consistency. I love it!
