Pretty surprised we didn't go after him as an ILB candidate. Good frame with good athleticism. He's a legit 6'2" and could probably play around 240. Probably the best fit for a 4-3 OLB, but right now I'd take anyone.

Committed to Mizzou. Surprised with the way ILB recruiting is going that we didn't give him a harder look. Had some really solid offers, maybe staff thought he was solely an OLB type.

I mean... the fuq? You telling me you couldn't evaluate him during the season and put some pressure on before he committed? I just don't really get it. Maybe this is simply a last ditch emergency effort knowing they're going to miss out on Morgan (and maybe Tranquill... boy that would suck). That would make some sense, but right now I just don't really understand trying to jump in the game this late.

In general, DT and ILB recruiting from '11 onward has simply made very little sense. It's like they refuse to offer anyone who isn't some ideal hypothetical 5:s: fit for the position... and because of that, they end up passing on good prospects they could get and are ending up with serious depth/talent issues.

Definitely thinner and softer up the middle.
