It something I have never seen him do once. While Folston did it like it was second nature. I guess just more reps will help him. I also thinks he carries the ball incredibly loose.

I think this is a by-product of never playing RB before. If we notice it, you can be sure the coaches do as well and will work with him.

Ferguson is at about the 2:03 mark.

Damn, he is one of the bright spots, and even then all I read is negativity. Forget Bryant, CJ is the man. Dude has 248 yards already. I am tired of expecting so much out of the rare5* recruits. ND doesn't get tons of them, but when they do, we expect so much. (myself included). Reward those who actually perform, not on potential. No disrespect to Koyack.

I don't get it either. CJ has been magnificent. He's not a final product, but he's a natural back there. In my opinion, he's already a better runner than Bryant ever was at ND.

No disrespect to Koon, but you can't even compare Bryant to CJ.

Procise has been more productive, sure. But when was the last time Bryant was given 17 carries in a game? We have no idea how productive he could have been. His downfall wasn't his lack of RB prowess.

No pass block, no play.

BK said that is one the things that Josh Adams came in doing well. Hence his PT.

I don't even want to think of the fallout if Bryant never picked up blocking and got passed by Adams.

Based on his limited action at ND I would give Bryant a B- as a running back....

all i know is that the guy can has had great vision thus far, and he kept us in the game vs virginia...and the play when he got to the outside and ran for a TD the very 1st play when kizer came in was a thing of beauty..he just straight got to the outside and ran by everyone....

I was blown away at that play. Brand new quarterback comes in, so you should expect a run if you're the defense. He simply took the outside and nearly walked in.

CJ is the man.

Let him learn the position.

As tempting as it is to let him own the rock, I hope they limit his carries and use him in some creative ways, to get him in space.

I don't know if it's been mentioned, but did CJ play any other sports in high school? I know there's that video where he dunked that basketball, but was he a part of the team?

The reason I ask is I know Urban has been targeting more multi-sport athletes to play skill positions in Columbus and it's worked out well in comparison to players that only focused on football. I'm curious if CJ is in that same boat. Golden Tate was certainly one of those players too, but I have no idea how many of our current players were 2 or 3 sport athletes prior to ND.

My guess is that most of them played multiple sports in HS.

That was my guess too, but I read some ESPN report about kids today focusing more on one sport as oppose to playing multiple ones like in the past, trying to become more proficient in that one sport by focusing on training and drills that emphasize movements and muscles used in that sport. No idea how much research was done into that article, kids today may be no different than they were 10 years ago.

Have to believe Prosise is going to put up monster numbers this season. BK doesn't trust RB's very quickly and Prosise has earned it. It'll take some time to gain that trust for the freshman.

His 91 yard TD run was the longest in ND Stadium history.

Also, his 198 yards is the best rushing performance of the Kelly era.

Does anyone know what the longest touchdown run in Notre Dame history (not just home games) is? I've done a bunch of googling and I'm coming up with squat...

Longest pass is 95 yards I think ... Crist to Rudolph.

All I know is Prosise beat the previous mark which was held by Denard Robinson in the 2010 game. Thank you so much CJ!!!

92 yds Bob Livingstone at USC 1947

Prosise tied the #2 longest run of 91 yds by Larry Coutre against Navy in Baltimore 1949

A couple of Leahy's Lads.

Thanks so much! Where do you find this stuff? Would love to brush up on the record book!

Edit: Tried to give you reps but apparently I have to spread it!
