Per ISD, offered this week. Notably, though; his brother DT Todd Heap still deciding between Stanford and AZ State, so I'd imagine he'll be a hard pull from Arizona otherwise. Still - enjoys playing basketball, so let's hope the Golson experience entices him.

Very cool didn't think we had much of a chance at all with him. Maybe I was mistaken.

It seems like we are getting in the mix with a bunch of guys that generally people would think we have no shot for. I think this is the year we need to make a big splash in recruiting with elite special talent. Speed guys especially. Kelly is building his team, I think his brain is running wild with the possibilities he has here with recruiting.

Just a guess, but at the B&G game, he unexpectedly commits soon after like Hegarty.

Sounds like he had a good time at the Florida St. spring game this weekend. Is close with the coaching staff there. Was really hoping he would be at ND's game instead, but it just wasn't to be.

From 24/7:

Five-star offensive tackle Andrus Peat (Tempe, Ariz./Corona Del Sol) will have Texas at the school today with Florida State and Nebraska scheduled to be in next week. The 6-foot-6, 275-pound athletic tackle prospect attended the Florida State spring game last weekend and has verbal offers from the majority of top programs in the country.

Per 24/7:

Florida offensive coordinator Charlie Weis was on campus at Corona Del Sol (Ariz.)Tuesday to visit Andrus Peat. On Monday Michigan, Notre Dame, Arizona State and Auburn were also on campus. Yesterday, the USC Trojans and the UCLA Bruins were also on campus to watch Peat.

We should definitely push hard for this guy. Not that our other targets aren't legit and promising but I think we need to pull in an elite offensive lineman. That would make it more enticing for some specialists knowing they got some big guys paving the way for them or giving the QB time to hit them between the numbers.

.....just don't end up like Sam Young

Anyone have premium memberships to Blue and Gold or BGI? Just got a tweet from each saying Peat just narrowed down his list and we could still be among his favorites.Any info would be appreciated.

Considering Charlie's history recruiting highly ranked OLs (Oglesby, Miller, et al) and his history of developing them (Young) this should be good news for the rest of the schools recruiting Peat.

Sad, sad, so sad, but true.

Was listening to a podcast of the Bill King show, and the recruiting analyst was saying that no one really knows where Peat is heading, but gun to his head he'd put SC on top at this moment (ugh). No mention of ND in the interview.

SC's sanctions being upheld must hurt them with Peat, right NDinLA? I mean.... C'MON!

They already have as many as they can take, don't they? If not, they don't have much room left.

Guaranteed they end up taking 15 in this class. They will find ways to push people out if necessary and are likely to lose a couple people (Kalil, Barkley, etc.) to early draft entry.

You would think.....but then again ask the 30 kids they signed last year in the face of what will be a VERY trying 4-5 year stretch, and the 8 kids who have already verballed this year. Say what you will about SC, but Ed O and Kiffy-boy sure can recruit.

What's REALLY going to be interesting is what they do with these 8 verballed kids. They have 3 WRs and 2 RBs, neither of whom were highly recruited outside of SC. With limited numbers, what do they do with those kids now???

Peat, are you watching?

So with the sanctions being upheld what exactly is USC looking at in regards to penalties?

75 schollys for the next 3 years, no bowl game this year and they can't play in the inaugural Pac10 conference championship game this year either.

This years sr class can transfer without having to sit out a year.

Depth is going to be their biggest concern going forward. I expect to see them giving up alot of leads over the next 3-5 years.

OLine depthis also very thin for them so it would stand to reason that Peat would be able to play early there. But his talent would make that possible anywhere.

75 max for the team. Ten below the usual 85 team max.
