This is 100% shady, but not necessarily cheating.
Regardless, giving a recruit's parent a title in the staff directory to legally give them money for their son's talent is bullshit.
Where this differs from the McDermott situation is that Tyler was a grad assistant at a smaller program prior to him coming to ND. It was a sensible career transition.
Ms. Lyons going from school teacher in Florida to a player development position at one of the most prestigious schools in the country is not a reasonable career move. Had she been in a player development position at Central Florida the move would be much more acceptable.
I mean, she even publicly mocked the position.
