Kelly played him out of position. Simple as that. He is a pass rusher, not a 3-4 end.
Kelly or Diaco?

yeah SF hit a home run with their LB picks. Borland has been a Keuchly style tackling machine too.
Not on Kelly, that's on Diaco. I mentioned this previously. Lynch should have been playing OLB and Ishaq DE.Kelly played him out of position. Simple as that. He is a pass rusher, not a 3-4 end.

Well... he did pretty well as a 3-4 end for us too. ha
So because he is a MLB and white you made the comparison to Keuchly?

So you are making the implication that an ND degree guarantees financial security?

Nothing guarantees financial security, well almost nothing. I am saying that there is clear evidence cough, Paging Whiskey, cough that there is great value in a degree from ND. Banking on the riches from an NFL career is not a wise move. Had he stayed at ND, earned a degree then moved on to the league, he would have a much greater shot at long term financial security than going for a short term to USF and then going to the league. I pray he has a long and healthy career. If he doesn't, I'm not sure that time spent at USF (and likely the lack of degree) is something he can fall back on.
But you are also assuming he cannot go back to ND to get a degree after football. That in itself is a flawed argument.
Compare the contracts of 1st rounders vs 5th rounders and see if he made the right choice. He lost out on millions on his rookie contract.
He's making $500,000 this year and total contract is worth $2.4M over 4 years with $50k guaranteed per year.
He can afford to go back and finish his degree at USF if he never plays another down of football.
He would have had to make $100K for 24 years to make what he'll make in 4 years and that's after completely mishandling his college career.
If he doesn't get his degree, he either doesn't need it due to the value of his next contract or he chose not to return to USF because he never had any value in one to begin with.
.
Not sure I understand this part of your post. What we do know is a degree from ND holds more value than a degree from USF. God forbid Aaron goes down w a career ending injury, but if he does, he'd be far more likely to earn a good salary armed w a degree from Our Lady than from that tramp.
By the way a $2.4M contract w a paltry $50K guaranteed over 4 years is by no means a guarantee of long term financial comfort. If properly managed, he could be comfortable but that's nothing to rest on. Jemarcus Russell says hello.

Wow...lol i remember him. He went straight from high school to the NBA.Let's also not forget how many of these guys live well beyond sustainability for years to come. They say, "I'm making X amount of money right now, therefore I can spend Y amount easily since I'm rich." Next thing they know they are out of the league 5 years, have a house in foreclosure and get arrested in a heroin dealers house.

Right, I posted his bio from USF that has his 2013 season stats and his stats from ND in 2011. His production was basically the same which is pathetic and proves that the decision was dumb. How a freshman AA doesn't get any better in two years is beyond me but clearly it wasn't the "system" holding him back.

I'll also add that he was considered an eventual first round pick by many when his time came. Thats a helluva a lot more money than what he got in the 5th. Once again not the systems fault, it was his stupid decisions. This must be a joke, right?
He's also currently playing at 245-250 rather than the 270-275 pound frame he had while at ND. It's nearly impossible to play 3-4 OLB at 270 plus, and when a true freshman comes in at a rock solid 6-6, 270 without even getting in the weight room, you don't make him drop 25 pounds of muscle to better fit a scheme.
Let me ask you this then. Does he look like an edge rusher or a 3-4 DE in your opinion given his physical talent?
See the quote above.
That does not answer the question. Does his physical talent say 3-4 DE or edge rusher? Speed, flex at the hips, long arms, quick get off, lateral quickness, are more important than weight and size.
You're assuming he gets readmitted. Why not get the FREE education AND play football at the same time, thereby setting yourself up for success in both faucets of life.
Sure it does. He was a DE when he was at 270. He could have bulked up even more and continued to progress as a DE. He transferred and lost 25 lbs, therefore he has to, based on size, be an edge rusher in a 3-4. He does have quickness and strength. Could he have been a 3-4 DE in the NFL? Maybe not, maybe a 4-3 DE though. For now it's obvious he is an edge rush 3-4 OLB
You can make a lot of money as an edge rusher in the NFL if you are any good.
