I would imagine his mom asked the same question to Slick Rick about UCLA who has been just as mediocre as ND for the last 5-6 years.

Kids a football player. If kelly sees him having the ball in his hands, you wont hear arguement from me. He has proven in a very competitive California league he can make huge plays when he touches the ball.

From Barr:

“It was good. We got a chance to sit down and talk for awhile.

“We talked about where I fit in with his new system he has implemented. He said he saw me at a wide receiver, a slot receiver and running the ball as well. That was interesting and I’ve never heard that before. It was just good to hear. It’s good news that I have direction. It made things a little more clear for me.”

Sort of reminds me of how Lou used Tim Brown in his senior year ... just find a way to get him the ball and let him work his 'magic'!

ND could put a 5 receivers on the field that would resemble a basketball team with muscle. A nightmare for CBs to matchup with.

Barr 6-4 230
Kamara 6-5 220
Floyd 6-3 220

Rudolph 6-6 260
Ragone 6-5 250

Split Rudolph and Ragone wide, Kamara and Floyd on the other side. Barr as the single RB who goes in motion toward Rudolph and Ragone. Hit him with a swing pass and it's essentially Student Body Right. Pump fake to Barr and hit Ragone who faked a block and streaked by his man. (He has wheels). Pump fake to Barr and hit Floyd going down the sideline or Kamara over the middle. And for the smash mouth testosterone crowd, Crist fakes a quick hitter to Floyd/Kamara, tucks it away and follows Barr, Rudolph, and Ragone.

Barr could line up at TE, RB, WR, Slot. Lots of possiblities with the same personnel. You could run these guys in goal line situations. Everybody but Barr would be an upperclassmen with another year in the weight room. Rudolph and Kamara both improved their blocking considerably in '09. And with healthy Crist, at 6-4 235, split those receivers spread the LOS and he could QB Draw ala Quinn, roll out as a pass/run threat.

How'd you like to be a 5-9 180 pound DB getting hit on repeated plays by these guys? They could wear down a lot of safeties as well. Then hit 'em with the smaller, quicker guys in the 4th quarter.

Yep. Shaq Evans will nab his weekly 200 yards and 2 TDs in the 4th of every game.

That is a DREAM receiving corps.

WR ?? RB ??

Why not LB. We need more speed guys like Manti here. We have a ton of WR and RBs. Doesn't make sense.

Why doesn't it make sense? If the coaching staff feels like it's a better idea to have the ball in the guys hand, then they will try to in any way. RB, WR, it doesn't matter. Get the kid on the field, he's a play maker.

I promise to let Anthony drive my Land Rover every day after school if he commits like Mr. McKnight. Kid's a stud - could see him resembling Golden. Maybe we'll see a little more use in the running game. I thought that Golden looked awesome when he got the ball in the backfield.

Let him play both sides of the ball, I would prefer defense since we are stacked on offense.

It doesn't make sense because he's a dream OLB in the 3-4. Honestly, if I had to guess, this is Kelly blowing smoke up a recruits ass to try to get him to come, before he talks him into switching into another position. More power to him if it works.

UCLA is recruiting him as a DE or LB according to the fan forum of the Bruins on scout. It will be very interesting a in home visit he liked from the Irish then a trip to UCLA and then after that he commits. This according to the Bruins it's all going down on the 15th (the bruins weren't more specific than that).

NDame77: You apparently beleive your roommates characterization of Barr and you certainly have that right. Likewise, we choose not to believe your roommate and your defense of him/her..and we have that right. So, lets end it. You are wasting our time.

UCLA is putting together a nice recruiting class, hopefully it does not include Barr.

With BGIFs idea of an offense, i would have liked him to be hired as the HC.

Barr seems to be just buying time for some reason, its been ND and UCLA for quite awhile. I still believe its ND in the end when all is said and done and signed in ink.
