I remember Tarkington and Mr. Page quite well. The Purple People Eaters were dominant in large due to Page's ability to create so much havoc.I've been at different times in life a Bears fan, a Packers fan, and a Lions fan, so no Vikings fandom for me --- BUT, despite our number one guy BobbyMac's Viking dislike, I'm forced to admit that I find a few Viking things deserving liking a lot:
1. Fran Tarkenton --- yeh, I get it, nobody here saw him play. You missed something;
2. Alan Page.
3. The twin TE greats: Dave Casper and Kyle Rudolph.
4. (personal obsessive answer) center John Sullivan anchoring for Peterson's 2000+ yards.
5. Harrison (Hitman) Smith. "Notre Dame Man."
I only hate em cuz it seemed we never beat them in my early Bears fandom when in reality we were 6-22 until the Bears turned the corner in '84. NEVER woulda guessed the Bears beat them 6 times. Don't remember a single one of em.I've been at different times in life a Bears fan, a Packers fan, and a Lions fan, so no Vikings fandom for me --- BUT, despite our number one guy BobbyMac's Viking dislike, I'm forced to admit that I find a few Viking things deserving liking a lot:

I don’t recall Casper having played w/ the Vikings. He played his HOF years w/ Raiders while finishing up w/ the Oilers.I've been at different times in life a Bears fan, a Packers fan, and a Lions fan, so no Vikings fandom for me --- BUT, despite our number one guy BobbyMac's Viking dislike, I'm forced to admit that I find a few Viking things deserving liking a lot:

Didn't help that weis had him out of position. He was so bad at lb early onI cant think of a more maligned ND student athlete that became more successful.
From Hayseed to HOF
Any other candidates?
ND fans *DRAGGED* him early in his career
