    2023 Transfer QB

Agree. Pyne is 3rd string at best and Buchner is inaccurate and unreliable. We 100% need a transfer. Sounds like the staff agrees with that. I’d be fine with a QB room of: Transfer - starter Angeli - backup Pyne 3rd strong/veteran Minchey- Scout team.

'23 TX S Peyton Bowen (Oklahoma Signee ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)

Seems like it. Oklahoma obviously feels like they have this one. ND also feels confident. Somebody is being led astray. They have the hot blonde in their corner. Not feeling too confident.

    Tommy Rees - Offensive Coordinator

For me, Tommy’s shortcoming recruiting was one of the bigger issues. He’s done a good (solid B) from ‘21 on. Should be able to have good QB play going forward. Biggest issue left is the inconsistency of the offense. 25% of the games since Kelly left our offense has been shutout in a half...

What Seniors Stay? Who enters the portal? Who would you like to see enter the portal?

I’d say the QB situation comes down to who the staff can bring in as a transfer and how they feel about Angeli. If the Transfer is more of a pocket passer and Angeli looks like he can be a legit #2, then Buchner probably needs to transfer. I’d just keep Pyne as an emergency guy. Problem with...

    Everything Soccer

I’m constantly amazed how Soccer federations seem intent on disallowing the most goals possible. It’s the most exciting part of the game and they seem hell-bent on eliminating them. Anything close and the call should stand.

Sorry, but if people (players, coaches, countries) really cared then they would refuse to go. They’re all going to play and we’re all going to watch.

    Tommy Rees - Offensive Coordinator

Pyne has been the startling QB for 8 games, no idea why he would be “coached as a backup” in any sense. His biggest problem as of late isn’t that he’s “too careful”, it’s that he won’t take the easy check down to the backs. Holding on too long and taking a sack or chucking downfield. Luckily...

    CFP - 2022

It’s been fun living in Tennessee and telling everyone it’s too bad they can’t make the playoffs this year since they won’t be in the CCG. They seem to be changing their tune on the importance of a 13th game.

    Tommy Rees - Offensive Coordinator

Not to make this about Tommy (even though it's in his thread) but it's hard to argue the offense hasn't been disappointing this year. Just looking statistically it's been a pretty poor year. Points per game - 59th Yards per play - 77th Total yards - 77th Passing yards - 109th Yards per rush -...

    What would you choose?

I’ll always choose the one where we beat elite teams. This program, as much as any in the country, needs those types of wins. The goal should be we can beat anyone in the country. We’ve not been there since Holtz left. Letdown games against inferior opponents will happen. Hopefully we won’t...

‘23 TN QB Kenny Minchey (Notre Dame Signee)

Since you brought up Tommy… Very true. Upside is he has pulled 2 highly rated QBs recently. Downside is he led the offense to 2 yards in a half of football against Navy. Gotta give it to Tommy, he does enough to make everyone feel correct in their opinion of him. He’s done wonders for post...

Truthfully, the time of year is a bigger letdown than where it’s played. I’m sure once the games start being played I will be more into it.

‘23 TN QB Kenny Minchey (Notre Dame Signee)

Weren’t most of those fired from previous jobs and still getting their buyouts? I know in Jones’ case his buyout would have been mitigated by any salary he got from another job. So he got a full buyout while working with Saban which then made his resume look better for the next job.

Bad career move. Following Carroll was tough enough but Saban is on a whole other level. Be the guy that follows the guy.

'23 KS QB Avery Johnson (Kansas State Verbal)

Since it’s A&M the smoke is probably coming from piles of money they’re lighting on fire. Nobody gets a worse ROI than those guys.

I think his film said 6’3” so the 6’1 thing could be legit.

'20 CT QB Drew Pyne (ND->ASU->MO->BGSU Transfer)

I feel like you could make a 5 minute montage of Lenzy being wide open this year and the ball being thrown way off target. Guy gets a lot of heat on here but I think he’s been the biggest victim (numbers wise) of our poor QB play.
