Accurate other than Down Syndrome Community, they actually support him since his jokes tend to come from his own family experiences and he speaks highly and cares about the community.
Had to include that because that’s one of my favorite bits of his

Ash game plan has basically been stop the run and prevent explosives. The thing Toney changes the most is your focus on the “prevent explosives” part. You should assume you can be more aggressive to some degree. But I still expect the gameplan will be largely what we saw last year with expectation/hope that the DL can garner more of a pass rush.
Exactly. The game plan hasn’t changed:

1) stop the run
2) take away explosives,
3) keep Mensah behind the chains/off schedule

Stopping the run matters even more now, as I'm sure their gameplan shifted to a more ball control game if possible. But the key to the last two was always the same: consistent pressure on Mensah.

That’s on Ash. And it can’t just be “we gotta get pressure with 4” like he loves to say. EVERYONE could be a DC if you can get consistent pressure with 4. Bring pressure from different spots and different looks, and put real work into it. You’re paid millions to figure it out, so figure it out.

Agree those 3 main keys won't change, but how you go about doing it better change or at least be tweaked.

How you need to defend toney a lot of times makes you a little more vulnerable in other areas. No toney, you can attack/defend (i hope I can say we attacked on D Saturday night) their offense in some other ways.

I do think our D strategy now Saturday will be similar to our 2025 strategy vs Miami. ND did not have a specific plan for Toney as no one expected him to be that good that fast. ND was caught off guard by Toney last year, now there isn't a Toney, so playing a bit more "straight up" can work.

The pros will be that our DL should be better than last year even with brewu and Onye banged up or not playing. Miami OL last year was very good, traore/bryce are better this year, and last year we had Hinish in 33 snaps and he was getting pummeled. Gray is better than hobbs and talich is light years better than stroman, sanders to the field is playing better than gray to the field.

The difference for Miami is Mensah is much better than Beck (we'll see how he does without Toney). Might be a little more "street ball" with Mensah trying to extend plays and make things happen.

It's crazy to me that anyone would ponder any of this for even a split second.
Everything else under the sun has been pondered so why not? Just thinking out loud and ready to hate if they don’t pick us. Hope they shit on the committee for ND favored by 8 against the so called #1 team. Coherd went off on the committee putting ND at 11 and Indiana at 4. Said they should be flipped.

Their TE worries me. Only using my eyes, I have no idea of draft grades or whatever, but he looks every bit as dangerous as the NC TE.

I would expect them to lean on him more than originally planned. He is strong, good hands, good mobility and can cause problems. He does not have close to the size/length of Thurman at UNC, so probably a little bit easier for our Lbs/Shuler to defend, but not much.
