Watch Brooks Austin breakdown from Monday. He highlighted Miami plays where Toney got open but wasn’t the primary read and didn’t get the ball in the season opener last season. Now in 2026 he’s the primary read on every play. So you’ll get the same game plan. Same plays. The biggest adjustment is Mensah cannot always look at a WR that is extremely likely to get open. It will likely slow down, and make less automatic his processing speed.

What has made them dangerous all year is the balance with the run game. With it being cold and no Toney I would expect them to lean on Fletcher and that's the #1 guy you stop.

With or without Toney, Mensah has mainly been a hyper efficient short passing game guy who does hit the occasional kill shot down the field. I don't think you want to give the receivers a lot of cushion around the line of scrimmage and I do think you want to consistently challenge him to throw rhe ball down the sidelines.
Chris Ash reads this and starts licking his chops to give up free access throws.

Remember BYU was missing their best player and how well that worked for us. I fully expect this staff to crap the bed again.
