A 5 star OG or LB should be making the same as blue chip OT/DE/DT/CB

I’m sure NDs offer way more than attractive, but they’ve also shown they aren’t interested in beating you with no regard for a limit for a RB, TE, LB etc

It's impressive, but there's still something about hiring straight-up mercenaries (and a few of the top-of-the-line guys there are; looking at you, Meadows) that, to me, prevents a program from jumping to the next level.

You saw that with Iamaleava. The guy made it abundantly clear he was going to commit and play for the highest bidder, which he did at UT. The second things go wrong? He bolts.

There's a fine line between using NIL effectively, and simply treating recruiting as free agency. And as we saw during Fischer's 2022 class, a lot of those guys jumped ship at the first sign of trouble.

It’s an all out bidding war. A&M offered 500 K more than ND and then LSU offered 250K more than A&M. ND has been on the phone with him for the last hour. Let’s hope we can convince him to at least visit.

If a 500K difference, which is likely a small difference in the long term for him, is enough to pull him away from ND… then he was never really a fit for what we do and who we are.

Half a million dollars is a lot of fucking money, especially to a kid who hasn’t started his senior year of high school. Also ND is buying players too. It appears they just got outbid this time (so far).

Power play by Texas A&M. Dropped a huge monetary offer and said "take it, or leave it, but if you visit ND it's off the table". You have to appreciate the cutthroat nature of their closing strategy. They had seemingly fallen behind and they saved their best swing for the bitter end. Now we wait to see if ND has a counter ready, or simply decides to bow out.
