Most times in geo-politcal affairs I assume that I and other "ordinary folks" don't really know what's going on (or what even went on) until long after the "Now." But that insiders DO know. This time, I get the creepy feeling that NOBODY knows exactly what has been "accomplished", and certainly can't predict even the near future on most of the big issues here.

I THINK that everyone wants the oil to go through the Straight in some way or another, so that might happen at least briefly. But will anything really stick ... on any issue? We'll get plenty of bullshit.

We might even get some big time violence, which probably serves no real long term goals. But as Sydney Greenstreet says to Humphrey Bogart in the Maltese Falcon: Sometimes in the heat of the action, men forget where their true interests lie.

We've got plenty of small-minded hotheads involved here so as not to rule that out.

Yeah, and if he was guilty of anything then throw him in the woodchipper. Trump hadn't been in contact with Epstein for 15 years prior to his arrest, and NPR timelines put Epstein's flights and abuses around '01/'02 which wasn't far away from when Trump threw him out of his club ('03/'04). If Biden had incriminating evidence he would have used it, instead he went after him for classified documents and other lesser charges that didn't stick or make a dent. Keep on believing though, I'm sure they'll haul him away in cuffs any day now.
