Trending Oregon, according to ISD. ND still thinks they can swing momentum back in their favor.
"Trending Oregon" = they've up their $$$ offer.

It's as simple as that.

Same thing with Miami. Nobody's going to Miami because of Mario Cristobal's magnetic personality. It's b/c Miami offers more $$ money than anyone else. Lanning has more personality than Mario but at the end of the day the "Oregon model" has always revolved around the lure of money to get kids to spend 4 years in Eugene Oregon. And I love Oregon.

If ND wants to regain the lead for JJ Jr they'll need to up their NIL to be competitive with Oregon. If the money is similar there's no advantage that Oregon has over ND.

Staff seems to have done well recently knowing when to up the $$ offers for kids recently. Especially those at the high school level. Oregon has stupid levels of cash to throw around so if they're going beat us out b/c of money, good for them. I'll still play them tomorrow and next week without hesitating. I honestly think they're a super overrated program right now and for whatever reason Lanning is getting clout for being an elite coach.

I'll push back on Miami a bit. Yes, they're playing the NIL game, but Cristobal is and always has been an A+ recruiter.

Are they targeting more "mercenaries" than ND? Absolutely. But they've come to a similar realization that ND seemingly has since Freeman took over: the football program being successful is good for the school brand, and they have the resources to throw their weight around in recruiting. It's worked for them, like it has for ND.

This

And they stopped primarily recruiting local kids that expected to get offers / higher NIL offers.

Maybe the staff isn't willing to overpay considering we have tons of young talent on the roster

Bro. Same reason ND has been pulling all the studs from PA away from PSU in the past two cycles.

Cristobal has always been a good recruiter at Miami, Oregon and Alabama is kinda a chicken and the egg thing.

Curious if Jones the #1 offensive skill player on the board or if the staff favors Dollar? If nil is comparable I like ND for him.

Damn I loved watching Julius run the ball. He would've been a monster in this era.
