I apologize on behalf of 15 of the 16 teams in the SEC that completely let everyone down. As for Ole Miss, we have nothing to apologize for as we accounted for half, yes half, of the SEC postseason wins.
I went to the Fiesta Bowl and sat in the Ole Miss section. I had a great dude sitting next to me - totally into the game, respected football, nervous as hell. Everything I would do if it were my teams. I really wish the Rebs had pulled it off that night!

No need to apologize. Everyone outside of the SEC was quite content with the results.

Picture looks like that was taken before desegregation. Oxford is nothing like that now neither is the south in general. Let’s not act like racism stopped at the Mason-Dixon line.
They were selling the confederate flag in their bookstore until 1983 and didn’t ban them from the stadium until 1997. The picture is also after the end of de jure desegregation. “Ole Miss” persisted in racist and segregationist policies long after Brown v. Board, James Meredith wasn’t allowed to attend a football game because of the fear that the fanbase would riot if a black man was in attendance.

That racism existed in the north is no defense of a University that openly courted racism and segregation longer than anywhere else.

All of this is true... and it's still a dick thing to do to lay at the feet of one poster, especially one that came in good faith.

An analogue is not hard to find: how many times have you run into other fans who throw the Church sexual abuse scandal in your face?

Dudes username is Rebel. Not like he's distancing himself from it.

I don’t think it’s analogous as the Church has never embraced the sexual abuse in the way the University of Mississippi has catered to confederate imagery and racist portions of its fanbase. I also don’t think it’s complete good faith when the post I was responding to was him throwing shade at other programs. No reason that he can’t be subject to the same trash talk or criticism he was doling out.

I apologize if it was too harsh. I will say that my response to someone throwing the Catholic sexual abuse scandal in my face has never been “I am definitely not apologizing for that”.

They are paid millions. I would expect the employer to not give two fucks about your personal at home decisions. You think NFL players/owners don't have that same expectation?

Reading on r/CFB, it seems like Trinidad would have had a redshirt if he were in DII still as he would automatically have qualified. However since he's now in D1, the NCAA was saying Ferris State should have submitted the waiver back in 2022. If true the NCAA is more incompetent than I had even thought
