Wash's great uncle is ND All American Dick Arrington.

Did not know this prior to the last episode of HCTI on Peacock.

Really rooting for him at ND and hope he lands a DC or HC job at some point.

I can't help but feeling since day 1 that Ash isn't as likable dude and as easy to coach with as Golden was. Might be completely wrong, but always felt that way...

Edit: Hopefully I am wrong as Ash is an awesome dude and these guys are just getting a promotion.

Would have to think Nick would come home to the alma mater if we're giving him the chance. Hell I know Clark Lea would. Nobody keeps contact with Sampson like that if he doesnt think he might be in South Bend again someday.

I don’t think there is an issue. All went to the NFL expect Max but that was to his alma mater.

Max Bullough went back to his alma mater to become a Co-DC.

Mike Mickens was at Notre Dame for six seasons and got a job in The League.

Al Washington was at Notre Dame for four seasons and got a job in The League.

The program has been winning games during the time they were in it and that's the price of success. Your assistant coaches get picked off.

All of them moved on to great opportunities and Chris Ash being DC in 2025 ultimately helped contribute to them getting these positions because of how the defense performed from halftime of the Purdue game onward.

Wash was a player 2002-2005. He coached there 2012-2016.

Hafley was BC HC 2020-2023.
