I just believe that at worst he should be giving the same production that Miles Boykin did in 2018. The back shoulder timing he and Book had was outstanding

That first TD yesterday looked like a bust by someone. Both Pauling and Fields ended up in the same place. In fact, I think the pass was intended for Pauling and Fields went up and grabbed it while Pauling was waiting for it to come down.

That's a bit of a stretch. Tate won the Biletnikoff as the top WR in the country.
It's true that Tate was far better than Fields could ever hope to be. It's also true that "X reminds me of Y" is what they call in the communication world an "inarguable statement."

"I love Wolverines."
"I believe Willingham was better than Rockne."
"I'm hungry for Skyline Chili."

Sometimes, you've just got to shake your head.

He was a bit underutilized because we were so run heavy last year, but I thought his film showed elite ball skills and body control. He consistently made big plays and contested catches when given the opportunity. Only question is speed / ability to separate in the NFL.

Who threw that pass? That was a heck of an adjustment to the route.
QB just had to keep leading him to the corner for the easy TD.

Incredible he’s getting legit 2nd round interest now. Obviously, he had several incredible plays for us, but definitely felt under utilized considering how run heavy we were and how we pretty much murdered everyone after weeks one and 2 when the offense really settled in. A shame he didn’t get a chance to showcase himself more in the playoffs.

He's pretty damn good on contested and 50/50 balls. Boykin went in the 3rd; no reason to think Malachi wouldn't go there or even sneak into the 2nd.

He was a great player downfield but he really struggled with slants and timing routes. It was a big reason we struggled in short yardage

Also, ND made it to the championship game last year with half the WR talent they had this year.
