The ACC pulls out all the stops to help Miami and they return the favor by blatantly and illegally stealing the conference champions quarterback. Now Cristobal has to go lie to the world right before the national title game and say they never tampered.

But Notre Dame are the bad guys because they didn't play in the Pop Tart bowl.

I still think MF and his murder bots destroy these guys in South Bend in November.

Cristobal has now surpassed Ryan Day as my most disliked coach.

Why would ACC leadership care if Duke football is mad? Jim Phillips probably will drive Mensah to Coral Gables

Yeah, good luck paying for Seaton and Mensah, while also attempting to retain your roster and add anybody else of consequence.

Seaton is already going to demand absurd NIL money, but the Mensah fiasco is going to eat up easily a quarter of Miami's NIL pot. You could very easily end up with nearly half of their money going to these 2 guys alone.

I guarantee Miamis 2025 roster will cost more than their 2026 roster even with both.

You’re confusing the University ““pot” with NIL which is unlimited. All you need is donors with deep pockets.
And your first paragraph, the portal closes today. If your roster is pissed off it doesn’t matter, they can’t leave. They need a QB, they’ll get over it. Are NFL players pissed off if the QB makes more than everybody else?

Incorrect. Miami and Indiana players are exempt from the portal close date, since they're still playing. They'll have until the 24th to enter.

And it's not as easy as just "get donor with deep pockets". You can use revenue share or NIL to pay players. NIL is definitely not "unlimited". You going outside of those avenues runs risk of it coming up red on the clearing house, and with Duke lurking and looking to nab every cent that Mensah earns in NIL, they absolutely will blow the whistle on this one.

So, since apparently there are no rules anymore, who should we tamper with from Duke? A few names that intrigue me:

Nate Sheppard (RB)
Cooper Barkate (WR)
Bryce Davis (DE)

Why didn’t they change the conference championship tiebreakers during the season if they truly don’t care if Duke football is mad?

Indeed, and this is an enormous market advantage to players on those teams.
There are still teams out there who'll pay big money for good players, and players at Miami and Indiana are basically the last guys who can enter the portal. The good ones, especially at positions of high demand, will be able to name their price.
If Miami hasn't already locked down their returning players for next year, they're probably going to need to pay a ton to keep that roster intact. As well as, apparently, a ton bring in a QB.

Even if they have, what difference does it make? Miami is actively pursuing a guy who was "locked down" at Duke. They did the same with a kid from Wisconsin last year. That tells you everything you need to know about how Miami views these deals.
