You have to applaud the staff for going after long, stud corners the likes of Sanders and Mckinney. They profile exactly as Mickens likes players at the position. I suspect they'lll be trying to land one (ideally Sanders due to multi-year eligibility) and still lock down a nickel type such as Smith Snowden.

Honestly I don't expect much until Monday to be made public. Again I'm using Jared Dawson as my data point. He didn't even have a profile on this site until what would be the Monday of the second week of the portal

I see he had a Duke offer coming out of HS. Shouldn't have a problem with academics. Would be a good get.

Exactly. After hearing more about him, I’m fine w/ them not signing a QB b/c Atkinson seems one-dimensional. Hose of an arm but no running ability. Kudos to him for not being sacked all season but everything else points to him not being very fleet of foot. If that’s the case I recant my initial hope of landing him & say go w/ one of the three freshmen. From a practical (layperson) standpoint, I’d say tell the three of them they’re going for the one most likely to beat a D w/ his arm & legs. Hopefully Carr doesn’t need a backup for more than a handful of plays this season. If that’s the case, I don’t think they’re going to risk having a RS or true freshman come in and start winging it around. Then they can start the QB battle this time next year (hopefully after the playoffs) when CJ announces for the draft.

The fact McKinney isn’t trending or signed elsewhere is the thing for me,… unless I missed it

Did a little check on our friends “up north “ and they have seen a bunch of players hit the portal especially DBs. Sanders is highly rated and a true freshman. They manage to keep the two OL starters who entered the portal.

Expect ND to continue to monitor guys after portal close. (There will be some last minute entries, not to mention ND wants to look at a few options at IU, and Miami)

So, 1 or 2 contributors may come after the close of the portal.

Couple possible changes in recruiting office. Maybe not fireable, but may be “Parker’d” out

Porter is a difficult pull. ND right there on money.

Edit: believe O’Malley has suggested similar to some of this.

Signed are:
DE Keon Keeley
WR Mylan Graham
CB DJ Mickinney or Jayden Sanders
K I'm not sure who, but somebody

Likely are:
WR Quincy Porter
NB Smith Snowden

My take is that as of right now, they're still in pursuit of 2 defensive tackles, although I'd be pleasantly surprised to be wrong.

very interesting. If 4 are done, and Porter still seems pending…then I would guess Keeley, Graham, McKinney and hopefully a DT. 2 others still likely are Porter, and maybe Sanders? Kind of shocked if we end up with only 1 (or none?) DTs and no K. Though Keeley, Graham, Porter, McKinney and Sanders would be quite a haul.

If 4 are signed, it’s Keeley, Graham and two of Snow/Sanders/McKinney. The other two Alabama linemen are pending

It would be shocking to have a DT DONE wouldn’t? Everyone who was an option besides Brewu is off the board. It would be something to have a guy locked up and him not be on the radar anywhere… maybe it is Brewu, who knows… my best guess it’s a completely other position not in the headlines or rather a kicker
