2026 ND Portal Targets

Man, Brunner would be a great addition and would completely solidify the OL. He's a complete luxury for ND, so I'm not heart broken in the least if we don't get him, but ND wants to throw the football next year and he's an ELITE pass blocker at his position. I imagine his market value will be high and some heavyweight spenders are going to come with some BIG offers... Brunner really is about as good of replacement at LG as ND could get after Schrauth left for the NFL.

Black
Brunner
Knapp
Jagusah
Lambert

That would be unreal!

Regardless, him leaving Wisconsin is a big win for ND in their opener. The Badgers also look like they're going to lose their stud linebacker to Ohio State.

Ill be curious if they commit that amount of money to a "luxury," would obviously be an upgrade though

Texas & Indiana mentioned.

ND turned away Brody Foley because they viewed TE as a luxury. I doubt they'd take another OL if that means 3 of Black, Absher, Craig and Otting had to sit on the bench. As good as Brunner is, that's a lot of talented guys sitting, while you spend more than $1 million on a guard. Doesn't seem like the way they want to use their money.

At this point it looks like the bulk of ND's Portal funds are being reserved for DL, which makes sense.

I agree.

ND returns 19 or 20 OL. Surely there are five OL that you can put in their best positions and can work the best as a unit.

Huge - that visit list speaks for itself. Him and Gilliam would be a home run.

From Miami On3
Brewu says he wants to visit Jan 15-16.

NDs semester starts on Monday.

If they really want him, Partridge needs to lock him down before the weekend.

hope it’s a two day visit, thought I say that partridge will be revealed soon as well and on campus during this week. Times up well with this :)

Does the visit length even matter now? Seems like the bidding war could be done over zoom

In this environment, I don't see him getting to all 5 visits; let's just hope he makes to ND for his 2nd visit.

I followed Atkinson extensively this year as I'm a long-time friend of Beau Brungard's family. The only two FCS QB's I would even look at are Cole Payton and Beau. Beau is Riley Leonard with accuracy, but not the biggest NFL arm. Atkinson played a powder puff schedule at Mercer. His last two games against Auburn and South Dakota tell the real story (1td, 6 int).
Exactly my point, problem is some ppl just look at stats and don't look at the games but he was in over his head in those games and this stage would be too big for him. Beau is probably the only one I'd really consider and maybe Dickens.

Kinda have a bad feeling about him going to Tennessee first, even more so if we land Gilliam, who Tennessee also wanted. They might be as desperate to lock up a DT. Hopefully he makes it here and the Partridge connection helps.

One key difference is that Tennessee sucks. I do think at some level these guys also want to win. So make the money competitive, offer great coaching, and we'll still pull our share.

We've seen guys with whom we'd be very happy sign with Cal.

It's the money.

Yep, you have to imagine that if Tennessee knows that Gilliam is locked up for ND, Knowles is going have them go all in for Brewu, who MIGHT be the better of the two prospects at thr end if the day.

One can hope that the previous relationship with Partridge, combined with a strong financial offer and ND's competitive standing vs Tennessee's, will be enough to at least have Brewu visit and give ND an honest look.

I find it fascinating that people are obsessing over players that only a few days ago nobody had ever really heard of. Makes it very difficult for me to feel all bent about "missing out" on these guys. I want to let the process play out fully before I assess what the portal was or was not for Notre Dame. My fandom will lose very sleep over a WR from Rutgers going to Cal. WR, TE seem like luxury positions. It's obvious DL is the pain point and they just hired a really good DL coach. Let's watch it play out.

Very curious to see if any other guys start jumping in and set visits to ND right away.
