First off, I have no idea why the quote thing above us is screwing around, not cool because I'm not smart enough for pre-med. LOL

Thirdly, Since I'm a federal officer, I'd be doing the arresting. LOL ;-)

Nice that you equate arresting with beating someone's arse. Didn't realize SBPD called in the Feds.

I'll stop now before you send black helicopters to my surveil my house. (no sarcasm font on that?)

Sounds like "fake" cops to be honest.

Sadly, they're all too real for the undergrads whose lives they ruin. You can read about this pathetic gestapo here.

The Indiana State Excise Police is the law enforcement division of the Alcohol & Tobacco Commission. State Excise police officers are empowered by statute to enforce the laws and rules of the Alcohol & Tobacco Commission as well as the laws of the State of Indiana. Our mission is to provide quality service and to protect the morals and welfare of the people of the State of Indiana. We are dedicated to the harmonious growth of our community, through a determined and cooperative partnership. We strive to help our fellow Hoosiers make Indiana a better place to live through education, enforcement and community preservation.

Doesn't that make you feel safe?

The Indiana State Excise Police has launched a new program aimed at reducing underage drinking in three Indiana college communities.

Partnering with the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute, excise police officers recently began focusing additional resources on underage drinking at Indiana University – Bloomington, Ball State University in Muncie and DePauw University in Greencastle.

The Intensified College Enforcement (or ICE) initiative is intended to expand previous efforts to reduce underage possession and use of alcohol in these communities. Priorities include illegal possession and consumption of alcohol, furnishing alcohol to minors, possession and use of false IDs, operating while intoxicated and related offenses.

Hatred. Stupid policy is bad enough, but when you put the coercive force of government behind it, it becomes intolerable.

I love all the talk of how the cops hate ND students. Lived here damn near 40 years and the only people i know who hate students and ND are primarily white trash folks...and i don;t associate with them. Have worked for 1000's in South BEnd and 99% love ND and support them in numerous ways

This entire thread of misinformation makes me sad to be an ND fan.

At the end of the day, this will likely be TR's last semester at ND...period.

That "protecting morals" quote made me shudder, too. I haven't dealt with any cops at off-campus parties this year, though I've only been to a few true keggers.

(By the way, "shock of the century" wasn't meant to be a jab at anyone but the cops who charged the kitchen sink... of course to see a felony reduced.)

It sounds like a force that should be headed by Joe Pantoliano.

Not exactly sure what the University's policy is, but BK is free to suspend a guy for any or all games. He made Tuitt sit for a game last year for missing class.

That's different though. ResLife can't punish you for missing class. Tuitt violated a team rule, which led Kelly to suspend him for a game. That was the coaches decision. In Rees' and Floyd's case, ResLife will give out a punishment, and I believe they suspend someone for a semester or not all. Kelly has no say except for his own additional punishment to give after ResLife has given its own.

new fact from court docs: passing cab driver used his car to block Rees from running; grabbed Rees after officer lost his breath.

Felony dropped.

1 charge of consumption
2 charges of resisting
1 charge of battery

Dude almost made it to the cab after running. Turned around and assaulted officer.

Most of what I'm reading indicates that the cabbie purposefully cut Rees off with his car, which allowed the cops to catch up to him. Not that he was trying to escape in a cab.

That story makes sense, because once that taxi door shuts, you're home free. Just like the Duke boys crossing the Hazard County line.

So here's a question. Unless you're a kickboxer or MMA guy how the hell do you "knee" someone in the chest? Sounds pretty far fetched.

Moving on from the SBPD "debate" for a second... I wonder if Chris Salvi's dad takes their cases pro-bono. He's a really, REALLY big time Chicago lawyer... and he worked some serious magic involving Chris' older brother and an alcohol related incident when I was in school.

Maybe the cab driver was a Golson supporter and saw his chance to change the outcome of the QB competition.
