Ok, Im writing this pure by the fact I'm sick and tired of eveyone p!ssing and moaning about the 2012 recruiting class!

Fact:We lost a lot of talented kids. Some we had (Darby, Perkins, Decker, Greenberry, Shepard and some we didn't (Agholor, Armstead(s), Poole)! But this is being a "trend"....BK and Co. would have to put together more than one "disappointing" recruiting class to say it's a "trend" .
I argue that this class is not a disappointment at ALL. Yes, what we could of had/lost, would have made it even better but the athletes that we do have are something to be proud of!

We need to quit p!ssing and moaning about the ones that got away and focus on what we have.
- Gunner Kiel, Stud QB...and he looks like Rusty from National Lampoons..
- Will Mahone, Monster and future punishing back, ala Jonas Gray
- Chris Brown, The under rated gem of the class on offense, what is he like 6'3 runs a 4.3!
- Justin Ferguson, This kid look like a young David Boston, sorry for the o$u ref but this kid be jacked, (Maybe my fav o recruit)
- KeiVarae Russell, Sleek, smooth and fast
- Ronnie Stanley, Stud Olineman who will be a star one day
- Mark Harrell, Can play just about any position on the line, Eric Olsen-esk, will be playing till the whistle...and than some
- Nicky Baratti, will be the next Zbi...need I say more
- Sheldon Day, will learn from Nasty Dog Nix and will be in the backfield a lot in his career.
- Jarron Jones, this MF is so big he will be blocking QB's passes with that beautiful gold helmet
- Romeo Okwara, does anyone remember we signed this kid...he is gonna be goooood
- John Turner, solid steady player and sure as sh!t tackler
- CJ Prosise, most undrated D recruit with Nicky...this kid is fast, physical, and will see the field this yr in at least special teams
- Scott Daley, Ruffer missed some FGs this yr do to p!ss poor snaps...and he is the #1 LS in the country folks, got the award to prove it ;)
- Devonte Neal, future Rocket/Champ Bailey/Charles Woodson....who gives a sh!t where he plays he is gonna be a STUD!!

So I guess what I'm saying is, could this year have had more studs in the class....yes...did it.....no. Soooo we need to pull up our big boy or girl (kissme) pants, pray for better breaks on and off the field next season and GET THE **** OVER IT!!!!!

Fire Kelly

But seriously, all good points. It's unfortunate that our schedule is so brutal this year. We really need(ed) Tee.

Good post. Only time will tell if any of these kids we got or lost pan out. Look at the class that just left. #3 recruiting class and look at their career records. Its all about development. I believe Kelly will develop.

I'm not disagreeing with you about the class, I too, feel its a good class. we did miss out on some heavy hitters, and we lost some important commits. I don't think there would be the pessimism, except the fact our neighbors to the north have kicked us in the **** in recruiting so far, plus its far to early to grade this class....you know as well as I do, nobody can foresee how these kids will turn out, in that aspect, people should quit bitching about the kids we did sign.

Its a long season brother! Like our recruits whos to say these scUM kids if they stay committed wont be but....You can always look at thing from different angles and I see you point too. My whole point is to just move on, whats the use of dwelling on what could have been?

I love the optimism. I'm excited by the players that we did land, but that list should be much longer and have some CBs on it.

Felt this way for a long time but looking at old profiles this happens every year....and to piggy back from above....same people bitching about losing recruits and Michigan's recruiting thus far...just remember they haven't signed and looking at last year how many players decommited so let the season play out

Lots of potential, but I cant blame people for getting upset with what could have been. Right now, we dont know how good these kids are, but we do know that we let some BIG recruits slip through our fingers (none I blame on Kelly or the staff, except maybe Darby, not sure what happened there).

Having said that, I think we got a great recruiting class considering the type of season we had (especially at the end) in 2011.

Is realist more of a Fuschia color?

Besides those kids who abandoned ship and signed elsewhere are not RKGs.

Whatever color your optimism, I don't think there's any getting around the fact that losing five blue-chip commits - three of whom were potential freshman-year starters at positions of need - does in fact suck. And, while I, too, like most of the rest of the guys we've got, let's face it: Everybody's full of potential at this point.

We just have to hope that the hit rate for realized potential is high in this bunch (higher than it has been the last few years), and get back at it on the recruiting trail. Nothing else you can do, but let's not be pollyannish about it, either. This class was quite close to being a whole lot better.

I think this is enhanced by Michigan doing better in the recruiting part, than I can ever remember. That being said, I think our recruiting success will hinge on the first four games of next year. When we win all four, the recruits will start popping like popcorn. I also think we give Oklahoma and USC great games and get homered in both of them. We win the rest.

IF we win our first four recruits, then we will get some more commits. However, if we don't finish the season strong, then there's plenty of time for said commits to decommit before NSD. And even if they sign their LOI, apparently they can leave a couple months into their first semester. On the other hand, recruits that we don't get out of high school may transfer to ND a year later.

So...I don't really know what my point is. Maybe it's that I care way too much about recruiting.

Right on the money and keep track of how many of these superstars end up not doing jack for whatever semi pro team they go to.

Mich under this guy will be no different than any other semi-pro college team, its why they're getting the players. Look hard at what you are seeing and understand what the heck is going on. Notre Dame makes these other schools skin crawl because they know its trying to be done right and Notre Dame still has national appeal.

OK where is Wooly? He just said realist.

LOL!
I always thought of myself as a realist too, but after Wooly broke it down in the other thread I keep jumping back and forth from pessimist to optimist. I can't figure out what the heck I am now.

I started this thwart not to say who's a optimist or who's a pessimist but just simply don't abandon ship after one recruiting class and get over it and move on. All this pissing and moaning sounds like bunch a women on the rag. ITS IN THE PAST LOOK FORWARD.....maybe that's the nd problem dwelling on the past glories AND failures
