I think you probably nailed it there sir.The problem is the title. There is no "trend" as we did the EXACT OPPOSITE flipping a bunch of recruits to us the previous year and winning battles we shouldn't have won.
Just a poorly written article but not really incorrect on anything.
I mean look at this past year:"IT'S NOT A TREND" ~IrishLax
and I agree.
Maybe the players see something we don't.
Sometimes the truth stings a little. Lemming said nothing we did not already know. It is a disturbing trend though. Maybe the players see something we don't.
This was a terrible recruiting job by the whole staff, and it's embarrassing to only get 16 recruits, including only THREE at defensive back. That's horrible and very disturbing. The decommits are a terrible sign.
Jeez they had an unfortunate luck this past season.
Some of it is due to suboptimal results on the field .
I'm gonna go with my man Nuke's style here.
No.
Two top 10-15 classes (even after defections), a few impact transfers and one CB leaving for health reasons and we're completely screwed? We got 3 huge 5 star defections to join us last year, lost 3 this year and unfortunately Tee has academic and/or major health issues.
It isn't the end of the world. We need a few more CBs than we thought this year, but we aren't bereft of talent like people seem to think.
We actually finished 24th in recruiting not 10-15.
We actually finished 24th in recruiting not 10-15.
Yes we lost too many recruits---but we perfromed a circus act the year before with LYNCH/TUITT/ISHAQ/ & eventually prestwood.

not sure where u are getting 24th...
Nobody is talking about our 2011 class. The problem happened with this past class. If this happens for our '13 cycle, are we going to brush it off and talk about how awesome our class was two years ago?
A "trend" would have to include more than one year, correct?
That's the biggest problem with the article that started this thread. There can't be a disturbing trend if the exact opposite thing happened just a year ago.
This class was a little disappointing and we missed out on corners. But the class has a lot of great players.
Those who said this class was an epic fail need to take a deep breath. We picked up the top QB and athlete in the country---weird how that's not mentioned in the article.
Here's a trend that ND needs, WIN!
Win and the recruits come.
