Mizzou deserved a one seed. but i don't know who you bump from number one. Syracuse and Kentucky were obvious number ones. Michigan State deserved a number one after winning the big ten tourney and sharing the big ten regular season, and you can't knock North Carolina down after they dominated Michigan State head to head... Mizzou is a good team. They will play they draw tough and nobody is looking forward to playing them.

Guys did any of you watch the last 5 games we played? We were terrible. We couldn't shoot the 3 which we live and die bye. Cooley was lost in both games. We will win the first game close within 5 points. But i really don't see us standing a chance against Duke.

Fixed it for you . . . St. John's, Georgetown were horrible - Providence was ok, but definitely not overly impressive.

How?

UNC made it to their coferencr tourney final without their best defensive player and lost on a lady second shot. MSU won their conference tourney.

Maybe Missou should try scheduling out of conference. Also losses to KSU in the regular season doesn't help

You mean they made it thanks to a screw job by ACC officials against NC State... UNC also got a laughably easy draw to boot... Temple is a JOKE of a #5 seed and Michigan has not impressed me at all recently.

Guys I really like this team, and think they have a wonderful shot at the NC. However, they didn't deserve a ONE seed their out of conference schedule rank was atrocious. Mich State, and UNC played a much more difficult schedule.

Xavier Scouting Report

Xavier Scouting Report

I go to Xavier and am a Xavier basketball fan. Our team runs though our backcourt of Tu Holloway and Mark Lyons. Our bread and butter is driving the lane, hitting layups, and getting to the charity stripe. We have a 7 foot big man in Kenny Frease who has been hot lately and can put up about 14 a game. We are a poor team when it comes to shooting threes, with most of our 3's coming from Holloway and Lyons. Brad Redford is our 3 "specialist" but has been having trouble shooting the whole way. Dez Wells is an impact freshman who averages around 11 a game. Our 4 man is Andre Walker who is consistent in getting 6 points and 5 rebounds, but not much more out of him. We have decent depth, but we more or less hope our bench holds on while Lyons and Holloway get some blows. We run a high pick and roll offense. We are a solid defensive team, with our defending of three pointers being solid. We are a very athletic team and will try to run up and down the court if you let us. Bottom line, stop Holloway and Lyons and ND wins. If ND doesnt shoot well from three or Lyons and Holloway go crazy, Xavier will win.

Edit: We suck shooting from the free throw line with the exception of Holloway, Lyons, and Wells.

Have you guys actually watched Duke? I've watched a number of their games being in ACC country. They are not that good. They just aren't. Rivers and Curry are incredibly streaky and they play a style of basketball we have success against.

Their record is a mirage and a product of playing in a conference where outside of the top 3 teams there is no challenge. They have not been impressive at all recently and have something like a 5-4 record against ranked teams. ND is something like 5-5 against ranked teams.* That's really not much different.

*I don't have time to verify these numbers but I'm pretty sure that's close to accurate.

Thanks for the scouting report. Anyone have an idea of what channel this will be on? Time, etc.? Thanks in advance.

ND was seeded #25 behind San Diego St and just ahead of St. Mary's then Gonzaga.

i.e. the top #7 seed, just missed a #6 seed.

Haha sure ok.. Officiating was bad both ways all game but that play was simply to close to call a block or a charge.

I don't care who we play. If our 3-pointers aren't going in, we'll lose. Brey isn't a good enough coach to adjust the gameplan when we can't make outside shots.

Our threes never fall in March. That combined with Xavier being athletic spells first-round exit. Xavier-Duke could be a good game though. Potentially awesome upset.

All a team has to do is press us like Louisville did and we lose easily. I expect Xavier to do this.

After looking this over, I don't like Cal getting in. The only tournament team they beat is Colorado - who they lost to twice. They also lost to San Diego St by 1; UNLV by 17; and Missouri by . . . wait for it . . . 39!!!!

I'd take Nevada over them who beat their conference reg season champ.

No big deal, but that is the biggest mistake I see by the committee.

In my humble opinion they should award the automatic bid to the regular season champ and do away with conference tourneys. Of course that'll never happen because it's all about the $. But one can dream

Where have you guys been for the last decade or so? What have you been smoking to think ND can beat Duke, let alone get out of the first round of the tourney? Xavier is a pretty athletic team. If our 3-pointers fall, we'll win, if not, we'll lose. If we beat Xavier, we'll get rocked by Baylor (I'm not sure if the bracketology bracket on ESPN is correct). But as far as Duke, are you kidding? Austin Rivers and Seth Curry would put on a clinic. Don't kid yourself. Make yourself some easy vbucks betting on Xavier.

duke is more beatable this year, than they have been in quite some time.

True - but I think being in Greensboro is a huge advantage to get out of the first weekend for them. Maybe it's me, but they always get a little help from the refs there. The one thing that could save ND or Xavier is that UNC will be packing the arena as well and surely be rooting against Duke.

Some of you are hyping up Xavier to be a juggernaut. They are having a down year for X standards and I am surprised to be honest they got a 10th seed, I was expecting a 12th. This is a game we should win.

Duke on the other hand... Not so much

I love Notre Dame and would be rooting for you guys in any other game and you all know that I live and breathe ND football and but Friday is about X zipping up the Irish. I go to school at Xavier and I love Xavier basketball close to as much as I love ND in general. Notre Dame is a great matchup for us. You guys rely on three pointers and dont score many points. We can beat almost any team in the country when we try (key is when we try). We shouldn't have been a ten seed but I'll take it. The matchups also look very favorable for us.

Xavier represents everything that's wrong with the world. Kenny Frease = Hitler + Kony + Osama (why is that censored?!?!).

I don't see ND getting past Xavier unless ND hits their 3s and rebounds really well. Duke will make it to the Sweet 16. They're very, very good this year and you all are underrating them. Deep, big, and pretty smart too.

That's cute. Was that your expression when you had to remember which "Ohio" you poopdicks are facing?

ND can beat duke. They just aren't that good. VT has played duke close and they are bad, they were down by 20 at home vs NC State before state puked all over themselves.

Exactly. I would rather play Duke than literally any other #2 or #3 seed we could possibly get matched against. If you've watched them play and not just looked at their box scores, you understand why.
