Not going to lie to you kind folks but ... I think the Miami vs ND game is a bit over hyped.

Who cares? As long as ND goes in there and smashes the Canes in the mouth and walks out victorious for all the world (and recruits) to see, so be it.

Michigan has its big tests, too, starting out with Alabama and having to face Air Force

Are they serious with this sentence? If Notre Dame was playing Air Force, the media would say "oh they are playing a schedule filled with nothing but academies". Even if Air Force was the only academy on the schedule.

Oh well, let ND win so they can be disappointed.

The conference has stepped up a little lately (LSU/Oregon for example)... but rarely plays real OCC games worth mentioning

maybe, but so was he Bowl Game two years and FSU v ND this year. Yet both got great viewing numbers. Both of the programs have a lot of young and upcoming talent, who knows, could be a revival of Catholics v. Convicts rivalry again...
