****ing amazing half-season finale. Range of emotions from gunning down someone's family in front of them, to the realization that the little girl would have been alive had he not held on. I thought it was magnificent, and there can't be a sane person on that farm now.

Having Rick be the one to shoot Sophia was awesome. It showed that he really can make the tough decisions that even Shane can't make. That was a perfect ending for the finale.

She might have gotten bit and then got away only to "turn" later on. Her injury on her neck didn't look too severe in and of itself.

Otis, on the other hand, could not have gotten away so he was devoured. Like the guy in season 1 that got bit in the attack on the camp and he lived for a while only to start turning later on.

Having Rick be the one to shoot Sophia was awesome. It showed that he really can make the tough decisions that even Shane can't make. That was a perfect ending for the finale.

This. Shane is a lot of big talk but he bitched out at that moment.

I had a feeling Sophia would come out at the end when they kept showing the barn doors, but before that, it never crossed my mind she would be in there.

On a side note, Rick has now shot 2 little girls in the face.

If Otis put her in there..... she'd been in there quite a while. Within the 1st few days.... So, she hadn't been hiding out in that house... and having her doll found off in the distance?

I agree....Darabont is amazing,and that would've been a great way to start the new season.
However, I think this season has been just as awesome as last season,just in a different fashion.Hopefully the 2nd half is just as good.

Had not watched this until this thread started, Now I have watched them all, even my wife is starting to get hooked a little.

IE may be becoming a media juggernaut. Too much influence, controlling people's thoughts and habits, dictating how time is spent, driving ratings and hits on websites, creating actions where none existed! I have no control........... Aaaaaaaaargh!

Dale, the guy everyone loves because he just genuinely the nicest guy in the group, is played my Jeffrey Demunn.

Demunn is also the piece of sh*t prosecutor who puts Andy Dufresne away for life in The Shawshank Redemption back in 1994 (well, 1946 too I guess..).

And he's one of the minor guards in The Green Mile...

He and Frank Darabont must be buddies haha

I think Rick being the one who "took the shot" at the end of the barn incident along with
the other things he said/done in this episode show that he is finally taking command. SPOILER ALERT IF YOU DIDNT WATCH TONIGHT i wasnt surprised about the news of Ft Benning being
overrun, but i will bet this isnt the last we see of the "Philadelphia Group" as the now
dead guys both said they were with a large group, i think Rick's descision to kill them
will come back to haunt him later on. it appears that the Ricks group will leave sometime
soon, does the Nebraska idea cross their mind? So much to discuss, im over on the amc.com
forum right now. looks to be a great second half!!!

I'm going to go ahead and say that this episode was basically another disappointment. Nothing changed. Basically no zombie action. The end was alright but very rushed.
