Yet still on the team with Brady Hoke making no comment. I kinda like, in general, the way Hoke deals with things... innocent until proven guilty and all that jazz... but I think it's really weird how this has gotten zero pub. If a Notre Dame player so much as gets an underage drinking ticket it's front page... Michigan player gets brought up on a felony and hardly anything.

Kinda like how apparently someone on the team had sexually assaulted a young woman.

That made things crazy.

Yeah exactly... that was a total sh*t storm and there were no charges ever filed and the actual "act" he was accused of was beyond minor... yet this guy is up on felony charges looking at a max of 15 years and I have not heard a single peep about it anywhere until someone linked this on ISD.

Wait until the Chicago tribune gets wind of it!

Of course that means Hamilton will have to read about it on twitter...

I hate Michigan with a passion, as many of us do. And I hate to admit this, but I think Hoke is a pretty good guy and runs his program pretty straight, and how Michigan would like it to be. He sat and cut Stonum (think that's who it was) when I can't say most other programs woulda. Some may not like the red shirt that wad used for it, but it was handled better than most programs woulda.

I don't think too many coaches would have red shirted someone who just got his third DUI. Sorry.

Theft of an item worth a couple hundred dollars is not "oh shucks" especially when you break into someone's place of residence to take it.

15 year max sentence is all you need to know about the seriousness.

I bet there's a high school senior from NJ who is more than pissed at the double standard.

Hahaha so true... Michigan (and their fans) burned him and got him expelled as soon as it became pretty clear that he wasn't leaning towards Michigan. Those tweets had been out there for months and months and mysteriously as soon as it was rumored (and later implicitly confirmed) that he was going to commit to ND sooner or later then they "drop" him and get him kicked out of school.

Well having some inside info on the sexual harassment ordeal it was much more than minor. Fortunately for one of our players the girl had quite the past and the parents weren't attention whores.

Would this be a big loss for Michigan in terms of football? I saw that he was a pretty highly ranked player coming out of high school...

This thread actually disgusts me. Didn't anybody learn anything in the last year? If you want to look at a tendency of players to commit crimes, fine. But nobody has any idea of what happened to the girl, the xbox, or anything else. It is all supposition and innuendo.

I don't know whether you're getting bad info or whether we just have different ideas of what constitutes "much more than minor," but I know the player who was accused and I knew the girl who accused him. What she actually accused him of is, in my mind, minor.

This. And as I've stated on here before, my girlfriend's family is relatively close with the accusers family on a number of levels and without getting into too much detail it's ridiculous and highly ironic to say that her parents "weren't attention whores" when they're the ones who went running to papers. The only thing I agree with is the "quite the past" statement because yeah... the accuser had a very long history of well documented issues, moving schools, etc. and the saddest part is that she had seemed to everyone to be doing "well" at SMC before this all went down.

And this continues to reiterate the point at hand... ND kid is half-accused of something with no charges filed and the name gets dragged through the mud by every media outlet. Michigan continues to keep on the active roster with "no comment" a kid on trial for a felony facing serious jail time and there isn't a peep. Michigan Man... lol....

Well seems like all the sources have similar but different stories. I just know what I heard was consistent from two sources, an ex-player and a very close friend of the girl who also felt confused on whether she should go to authorities or not.

Regardless it is crap that the Mich player isn't getting more pub for his run in with the law or that Skov gets a DUI on Jan. 29th and it doesn't come out until today.

This is just further proof that, despite what ND haters want to think, Notre Dame is held to a higher standard than the rest of the country and is still the moral beacon in college football. If a school with "Midwestern morals" like Michigan isn't being criticized for a crime like this then it just shows how much higher the moral ground Notre Dame stands on is than the rest of the country.

It's a double-edged sword. We should be proud of what we stand for, but at the same time we should expect to be demonized at the slightest implication of a misstep.

dumb, dumb, and DUMB. I don't believe for one second anyone on this thread knows anyone or anything about the sexual assault, but the police report was made public. It said he touched her chest. And that was it. The thing here is, a ND player can't fart sideways without the people getting their underwear all in a bunch. People in this particular thread are no different, and you all talk about how women gossip! Sheesh!

Hey, not old enough to be a cougar,

My point is that many who post here don't have the nads, or the behavioral norms . . .

Reminds me of this guy in the old neighborhood, he was a jailer kind of guy, at a supervisory level. His block heald Maurice Clarett (sp) at one point. But we are at a party one night and the women are sitting around talking, and his wife came out and stated, that her husband, this guy, was not allowed to pee standing up at night. He had to sit on the pot. I am glad no one was paying attention to me at the time. My jaw hit the ground. My point? All these sexual role, and identification issues, are where people are the most ****ed up. It is also where the most lying happens. So when you have an issue like this, it is mondo tainted by everybody's ****ed-upness.

Good example, I was out on a date last nigth, and my date asked the waiter if a particlar appetizer was oyster based. When he affirmed my squeeze replied, "Well good, because when we get done here I am going to take him home and **** the hell out of him, anything to give him some help keeping up!" The waiter dropped his tray, and all the people sitting around us acted all offended. We just laughed our asses off, (and remember I have four daughters, all of them know how to incapacitate a male attacker.)

And so life goes . . .
