Good movie. But funny in that it is considered the most historically inaccurate film ever.
More historically inaccurate than "Beastmaster?"

Ah, where'd you get that??... They took some liberties for sure... changing up the actual events of Sterling and Falkirk... no one knows where Wallace really came from so they had to show something... The Princess had no relationship with anyone (Prob. the biggest historical issues with the film) but did in fact kill her husband so... Unknown if the Bruce and Wallace ever aligned or otherwise...
On the flip side Edward I was in fact a brutal king by many accounts (Also one of the greatest English monarchs ever from their perspective)... he was represented very well imo... his son was a total failure and widely considered to be gay... again, nailed him... queen Isabella did have issues with him and in the long run did kill him, which the film eludes to... Wallace did lead the Scots to one of the greatest military upsets ever at Sterling and Bruce did win the battle of Bannockburn, essentially winning Scottish freedom... It captured 13th century Europe quite well imo...
oh and the kilt thing... yeah... but I as a Scottish American have no issue here... it's part of our culture and a defining aspect... throw it in by all means... side issue
All in all it was not that far off, if not better, in comparison to many other historical pieces, any movie on the Alamo comes to mind... The Patriot... The Films on Elizabeth were all over the place with fiction...The Last Samurai was mainly fiction... The Other Boelyn Girl was complete and total fiction... Gladiator took all kinds of liberties with real historical figures and ran with it... look at any representation of the old west and or World War II before the 1990s and you will see mainly total fiction...
Just saying.

This and when he went to the clock in Wrigley. Honorable mention when the coach in 'Remember the Titans' told his players-'you make them remember the night they played the Titans'.<IFRAME height=315 src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/gjk3RsytFZg" frameBorder=0 width=560 allowfullscreen></IFRAME>
