I think they both know where they want to go just waiting for clearance. You guys are acting like this takes 15 minutes.

Says the same crap. Sources close to the process say "likely to wait" until closer to NSD. Also say that Armond is likely to petition the SEC.

Reading between the lines, basically makes it sound like Arik wants to go to Auburn so they can play together and that Armong eithet wants to come to ND or feels it's his only option, but in an effort to get to play together the above will happen.

Hence why Armond is doing Auburn's thing just in case. Hopefully they get clearance and do not attend the deep south's back up school.

I think if he's waiting for NSD it would seem like Auburn would be the team to beat. If it would take Armond that long to get cleared most likely that would be why they would wait, just my opinion.

If it wasn't for Armond then I don't think we'd have ever even been in the picture for Arik. Seems to me like Arik wouldn't be averse to being Irish if he could come with with his brother, since ND is such a great school after all, but if there was no Armond he'd have been in school at Cal or USC already.

I wouldn't be so quick to assume it's ND's clearance they're waiting for... I hope that IS what they're waiting for, but the good ND vibes seems to be slipping closer to AU's general direction.

Bryan Mathews from Auburn247 responded to my question:

Bryan, is a fact that Armond will be appealing 1-year SEC clause?

He is submitting a waiver request. Don't know exactly when it's happening but soon, maybe already.

Also, Bryan said that the SEC clearing his waiver is 50/50

Considering this rule just went in to place, it would seem like the SEC wouldn't be to enthused about considering a waiver the first opportunity it gets. If it does, they might as well abolish the rule, cause every SEC team will be standing in line with waiver requests next year.

The SEC will clear that 100 percent. I really hope the admin at ND tried their best to move that process along.

I wouldn't be surprised if they clear it. Armond is a graduate, not a transfer.

Ha the hopes of the Armstead brothers choosing Notre Dame depend at least somewhat on the morals of the SEC. Nice.

It's only 12 pm in Cali. Wait.

Unless you know something, you need to back off. We all know what time it is in Cali. Unfortunately that has NOTHING to do with this situation. So please, please stop pretending that this is a simple matter of waiting until Arik finishes his Cheerios.

What does it have to do with? I'm not being sarcastic, I'd like to know. Please elucidate.

It's 50/50. But what sources are these Auburn mods using? Just because he filed a waiver does not mean he IS going to Auburn. He may be using it as a backup. The family has not hinted and this is all message board chatter. Wait, before you panic. Also the EE stuff is all speculation.

The latest reports suggest that it has to do with seeing whether or not the SEC will approve/deny Armond's appeal of the transfer rule. Thus, it only being 12:54 in Cali has absolutely NOTHING to do with this.

All valid points. The EE thing is what "scares" me the most. Hopefully you're right and this is all being fabricated by AU people. However, you have to admit that momentum does APPEAR to be swinging in the other direction based on these reports. I mean, if we're going to take the pro-ND reports seriously, we need to be willing to take the pro-AU ones just as seriously.

Conversely, we can just take none of this seriously and drink ourselves happy- that way everyone wins.

Again we were basing our hopes based on speculation. Just wait and see because this has been the most stagnant no info recruitment I have seen.
